Allright, here we go!

I put up this thread so I can give some of you guys some good ol' challenges to take on. I'm only going to post up ones I know are possible/have done myself, OK?

Here's the deal- post up a challenge you can think of from a Mario game. I'll start so you get the idea, all right? (No SSB ones, OK? They're great games, but not MARIO games.)

Super Mario 64
----------
In Bob-Omb Battlefield, ride the Koopa Troopa shell all the way to the top of the mountain without hitting anything. Yea, kinda pathetic, but ya gotta take baby steps before you can walk...

Super Mario Brothers 3
----------

Beat the game from start to finish- I mean FROM SCRATCH - in under 15 minutes. Possible, of course. Generous, even. Afterall, the record is just under 11 minutes. Don't believe me? It's true, I've seen it. They beat it about as fast as possible- no lie! Look it up, you'll find it. Or wait until I find the link again and put it up here, it deserves to be seen, it's AMAZING...

Mario + Luigi: Superstar Saga
----------

Beat the game under these conditions:

The only pants you ever wear are the Work Pants- your first ones.
The badges you ever wear are Pea Badges- which suck pretty bad.
Use Gadd's stuff if ya wanna save some time, but don't if you want an even BIGGEr challenge.

Paper Mario
----------

In the room in Bowser's castle where you play a mini-game with the guard door...

Get three wrong answers! You'll fight the funnest battle in the game! The Anti Unit!

YEP! Three- count 'em, THREE ANTI GUYS all at once! Are you ready? Good! Now beat them in five turns or less!

BAHA!!

I myself can honestly say I've done all of these, which is why I'm challenging anyone here to them. Of course, NOT the Mario Bros. 3 challenge, that's juist SICK- oh, wait, I DID say 15 minutes...Hm. I think I could do that...I'kll just whip oyut my GBA sometime soon and give it a go...

Well? Any other ideas?

That was fake. Trust me, someone just used an overamount of savestates to do it.

Half-fake I would say.

It's possible to do it, but he didn't play through the whole game at once.

Whenever he failed an level, he restarted it from the start using save states. It isn't visible on the movie, but he did.

Thought 15 minuts should be possible without savestates...

Ah. Even if this is true, he DID set an example as to how one can beat the game almost as fast as possible.

The challenge, then, still remains, does it not? That was a bloody brilliant movie, even IF he used saved states.

Anything ELSE people want to dish out? I'm all ears, that's for sure...

If you liked that movie and found it amusing, you should look for the one with someone beating Megaman 2 around 30 minutes. But that one is also completely fake, no chance in heck is someone that perfect in a game.

SMB3: Beat the ENTIRE GAME, no warping, no cheating, without dying I got up to 5-7 doing this myself. I was recording it too. If I ever do it, I'll release the movie, hehe.

I do that...

On the real console. I find the game easier when I play it with an controller.

It's not hard, it's just about being careful... ;P

If you mean the one where he gets all those 1-ups then it wasn't fake. Well, he used macros for everything anyway.

A simple yet evil challenge...

How far can you get on old school DK?

I get screwed at the third time on the "trampolne" level. (I only tried once though...)

Not only did the guy annouce he used tons of save states for SMB3 but he also said he used a different frame rate and as far as i can tell it was sped up...which means in "real" time it isnt 11 minutes...it could even very well be over that 15 minutes...all i must say is good luck

you can get SNES or PSX to USB converters for $15 or less... i cant stand playing with a keyboard, but my Playstation controller plugged into a usb port is great. zsnes and fceud and most other emus support mine. check out ebay

my challenge: beat SMW without dying in under 30 minutes. it's probably not that hard though im not sure exactly how long it would take to do so the time limit might be too hard or too easy, but it should be easy not to die.

another challenge: beat the special path of SMW without dying (assume all switch palaces have been completed) (tubular always gets me grrr)

Beating Mario World/Mario Advance 2 in those conditions is easy. Just head straight for Star Road and head over to Bowser's castle. Of course, you skip about 95% of the game...But you do beat it.

I don't care what frame-rates, etc.

The point is that what he did is POSSIBLE. (Though maybe not the weird 2-in-1 fireball trick)

Therefore, SOMEDAY, someone will do all of that WITHOUT 'cheating.' Not me, though!

yeah.. that is the way i was thinking too how about 15 minutes then if 30 is too easy? bowsers castle will take like 5 by itself probably because bowser takes forever to fly around and throw out the things to throw at him

- Beat any Mario game without dying even once.
- Even harder: beat any Mario game without even getting hit once. (If you can do this in SMB2J, including worlds 9-D, you are officially the Supreme God of Mario. No warping!)
- Beat SMB1 8-1 as fast as possible.
- Jump over the flagpole in SMB1 3-3. (Supposedly, this is possible)
- Get over 127 lives in SMB1, then watch the "GAME OVER" screen appear because the cartridge interprets any value over 127 as negative.
- In SMW, get the Yoshi in 1-2 and keep it until the end of the game.

I beat SMB1 without dying once. Although it took alot of time and frustration to do it. But it was done. And about these "challenges"...

-Beat SMW staying small. Not getting any Feathers, Fire Flowers or Mushrooms...

(Taking the Star Warp would be the easier way. But doing ALL of the levels)

(Using Yoshi would also help you out. So you don't die in one hit)
