I know this is crazy, silly, and probably not going to be fixed soon, if at all. But I have an email that is about 60 characters long, and it does not fir into my profile. This is only a minor issue, as I doubt anyone anticipated or really cared that some maniac would actually use one of the world's longest email addresses for anything. You may delete this if you feel it is too silly.

He can't edit the code, only persons who have access to PMA & the FTP server can do it. The problem is, that it has to be edited in editprofile.php and in the DB, because VARCHAR is set to 30 or 40 IMO, that means you can't type in more than 30 or 40 letter.
Ask Acmlm or another Admin around here, maybe they can help you.

Or just make a shorter email adress with a new account.

No need to repeat what Ice Man just said, mikeo.

Seriously though, is it an issue? Like, are you expecting emails or do you want people to see it? You could just make another email off of some other place for here, gmail, hotmail or something, that's shorter.

It just seems kind of pointless to me.

Eh. Mostly pointless. The only thing being that I want to use that insanely long email for my public email. The email I'm currently using is in no danger of dissappearing, and will continue to be used for a long time.

Then don't use such a long email address. Webmasters and programmers aren't going to modify their database structure and board source code just so you can use a 60 character long email address while you could've easily used a shorter one.

I think that telling the user to get a shorter email address is a bit harsh and stupid, since modifying a thing like that wouldn't hurt.

Making a 60 characters long email address is stupid and completely unnecesary. If I had, lets say, a 'location' field which was restricted to xx characters, and a person can't fir his/her country name in there, I'll gladly change it. But for an email address which could've easily been kept top under 20 characters, no.
