I usually pronounce Acmlm as "Acmulm". Because syllables are easier with vowels.

As for the "Linux" thing... it's a mix of the "x" at the end of most UNIX OSes and his name, Linus. So the English language rules shouldn't even apply.

Lets see:

Linux: Lynn-icks (Lynn like the girls name, and icks, like sticks, picks, dicks etc.)

Zem: I think this is pretty obvious. Same as phglem (or flem because I can't spell it correctly) but with a Z sound not an F sound)

Colleen: Call-in. My friends name is Colleen, and saying Coal-in reminds me of that thing in your ass...right? Thats what its called, Colleen?

Vachenzia: Vah-chen-z-ah. That sounds right.

Acmlm: Ack-lum. I dont pronounce the first M.

Now how do you pronounce my name, Keikonium?

I say "Key-cone-knee-um."

And I pronounce Acmlm's by sounding out all the letters.. "A see em el em's."

Linux is "Line-ux."

Zem is like gem, cept with a z.

I use the "lynucks" pronounciation for the OS myself.

I can understand how certain dialects can lead you to pronounce a name differently, but it's not my problem if someone wants to name themselves after a part of the human anatomy.

For me, Zem is pronounced "your daddy." For everyone else, Zem is pronounced "My daddy." Get it right.

Try this on for size.

Sywvwkoysky

One of the five spellings of my Ukrainian last name

Sivicowsky
Syvicowsky
Swivicosky
Syvicowsky

Any of those names are proper spellings due to regional differences in Ukraine for the past 400 years and the resulting dialectic differences.

Sorry, Zem, but thats the only word I could think of at the time. Of corse, like someone else said, pronounce it like gem but with a z. I wasn't saying thats what you remind me of or anything...

And hey, my name sort of sounds like meconium...eww. If you dont know what it is look it up on google.

And I couldn't even pronounce that word Ziffski, even if I tried. To short on vowels for me

Can't we change your last name to bastard Ziff? That would be so much easier to pronunce.

Seriously, anything that ends with cowsky or whatever... hell Ziff. Just upload a wavfile or something how you pronunce it.

Dan-yelle. That's pretty much the defacto way around here.

Ziff: I'll just pronounce your name the same way I would pronounce Jif (but with a Z sound instead of a J sound) and run away into the night.
