Well, I pronounce Linux the same way that Linus Torvalds does. And I find the fact that there is a soundbyte of Linus saying "Hello, this is Linus Torvalds and I pronounce Linux as Linux" really funny.

Eh, as for "Colleen", I pronounce it the second way.

As for my own name -- Same as "Karen" but with a T instead of a K. Although at work, nobody seems to listen or hear me right, because I've been called everything from "Pam" "Fern" "Sharon" "Susan" etc.. (I work on a phone... I give up, I don't care what they call me anymore)

Call-in.. before Acmlmboard Colleen though, I only knew a guy named Collin. Two l's. That's like twice the penis size.

I still stand by "Semi-Colleen" as being the finest halloween costume ever thought up, and I urge you all to go for it. Even if your name isn't Colleen.
I know I've said this before, and got overlooked.

Heh, and i'm not surprsied that Linux torvald can speak Swedish. That's finlands second language, and they even learn Swedish in school.

At least, I do pronunce it like him. So i'm not saying it wrong in that way...

How does everyone pronounce Zem? I pronounce it "old mattress name common to all mattresses on Squornshellous Beta, and in fact everywhere, but also to a wannabe who could never flollop like a mattress even if his life depended on it".

Colleen: "call-in" (Why would you pronounce it like the punctuation mark?)
Zem: "zehm" (rhymes with them)
Linux: "lih-nucks" (I used to say "lynucks" until I found out the correct pronunciation)

Here's the reasons for why people pronounce Linux the way they pronounce it:

"lynucks" - Because the English language tells us to pronounce it that way.
"lee-noox" - Because that's the way that guy who made it says it
"lih-nucks" - Because everyone else says it that way

The first two have decent reasons. I hardly think the third one has a decent reason at all, so I refuse to say it that way.

I've heard 'coe-lin' used before, but it's clearly 'call-in'. Look at the word, it ends in a consonant. That means o = 'ahh' and i = 'ih'. If you're going to say 'coe-lin' you may as well say 'coe-line', at least your incorrect grammar will be consistent.

As far as Linux, I always used to say 'line-uks' because that's how it looks, but I switched to 'lin-uks' after hearing others say it. Just about everyone says it that way. (Similar to 'anim

Accually, Linus belongs to the 6% of the finnish people that have got Swedish as their main language.

I pronounce Linux in the same way as Linus does.

I say "Ack-mulmz." Nothing will make me change my pronunciation of Acmlm or Acmlm's.

And I used to think that anime was "an-eyem"...(last syllable promounced like the contraction "I'm")
