Have the order you want in alphanumeric order. Most MP3 players read files in the order the files come in alphanumeric order. If you did that, then what kind of CD MP3 player are you using?

My MP3 CD player plays the tracks in alphabetical order. Just prefix numbers to each of the tracks in the order you want. For example:

001 - Song 1.mp3
002 - Song 2.mp3
003 - Song 3.mp3
004 - Song 4.mp3

what kind of MP3 CD player do you have? I believe the manual of the MP3 CD player will tell you how it sorts out the files.

How many songs do you have? It could be better to just make a normal audio CD if it's not that many

but yeah, make sure they appear alphabetically in the order you want. I think the Renamer will do it fast for you.

If it supports it, you could also place certain MP3s in folders and have them works as albums. That's what I did on the one MP3 CD player I had.

I've tried using numbers but that didnt work, the tracks played in the same order on my dvd player. Over 100 tracks, all parts of 3 books of His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman.

hmm...question, what software are you using to make your MP3 CD and have you looked at the file structure of the MP3 CD after you made it through a computer's file browser?

I'm not sure, but I believe the file system on a CD gives the files no intrinsic order. Have you tried it in another player? Maybe your DVD player is set on shuffle mode for some reason.

Every player I've seen uses alphabetical order, so numbering them should work. You should probably check if the files on the CD are named the same as they were originally.

I think the best place to check is the manual of the CD player. If the manual of the CD player doesn't tell you, then the CD player (and it's maker) have no reason to stay in business....
