Another poll. Just wondering which of the Mozilla suite you guys use. Mozilla have a few nifty little things out lately (Firefox being the most well known lately it seems) so I was wondering which apps you use... In particular, I'm wondering how many Firefox users also use Thunderbird and/or Sunbird. Multi-voting is enabled so you can vote for as many as you need to. |

Firefox of course, but about the other software... I have Thunderbird installed, nifty but I don't use e-mail enough to even bother with changing. I probably will do a change soon for the heck of it, as soon I find my account information... I never heard about sunbird thing, but I just looked it up. It reminds me about the old Microsoft Schedule thing... (which was replaced by Outlook...) |

Ah, that was one of my alterior motives in posting this poll too. To find out if any of you knew about Sunbird. And if you did, hopefully find out something about what you think of it. I'm looking at it, and I've heard of it for a while; but they've just had their first official release so I'm now poking around in Sunbird 0.2 And I should update my Thunderbird now that I think of it. Originally posted by Jizuko Same here, I prefer two individual packages, since the overcrowded Mozilla Suite eats up too much RAM and I don't need to check my emails instantly, or ChatZilla. I still prefer X-Chat, when it comes to IRC clients. Firefox suits my needs, a few days ago I made a clean install, since some pages could not be opened because one, two extensions messed up (anyway I had a bunch of them installed, way too much ). Thunderbird is also slim, I check it maybe once or twice a day (or if someone announced me to send something, like password recovery mails; it is not THAT much work to click one button in my Quick Launch bar). Since then Firefox is again one of fastet browser ever. When I'll get DSL and my flatrate, I will enable pipelining to experience even more speed. |

I use Firefox and Thunderbird. I have used Sunbird in the past, but I don't really have a need for calendar applications really.

Firefox and Thunderbird. The full suite has applications (a chat client, an HTML composer) that I'm never going to use (I have other software I prefer for those purposes), so it just feels like too much to me. Besides, since the Mozilla project is geared toward ultimately producing standalone applications, I wanted to go with the products that I felt represented the goals of Mozilla development.

Mozilla on the UNIX terminals at my school FIrefox at home It will be sometime before I switch to Thunderbird. Probably will happen when I abandon POP use of my email accounts. Unless someone has figured out a way to be able to access hotmail accounts through Thunderbird. |

I only use Firefox here. I tried Sunbird last night actually, but Rainlendar does practically the same stuff I'd have used it for, and it's more lightweight, so I uninstalled it I also tried Thunderbird a while back, but I didn't have any real need for a program to manage my emails (and I'd installed it on one of the college computers anyways ), so I removed it as well. In short, I've tried Thunderbird and Sunbird in the past, and I use Firefox daily |

Just Firefox here. Thunderbird is the other main one I'm aware of, and all my E-mail is web-based anyway.

Firefox, naturally, as it is my primary browser. I don't do e-mail that often, but I use Thunderbird when I do. |

Well, my thoughts on Sunbird aren't all that much at the moment. It seems like it'll do the trick nicely, it's small and pretty neat. But I don't yet have a need for a calendaring program on my home PC, so I don't think I'll really be able to judge either way if it's good or not. However, I might try playing with it at work.... |

Originally posted by Tarale Sunbird seems pretty cool to me, when I move away to college and get my own PC... It will be an asset to keeping my scheduling non-conflicting. But till then I won't need it. I run Firefox right now, and once I get a more permanent email addy, I will use Thunderbird for my email client. |

Downloading sunbird right now, hearing so much things about it want me to test it. Besides, I do need to keep track of certain... things. Besides, I never liked Outlook. Edit: First glance, it's not flooded with GUI crap. Good... (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 02-10-05 09:26 PM) |
