Oh yea, that time of year where you get to figure out if you have to pay or if you get paid. Now, I'm not sure how it goes down outside the US, but doing your taxes is something that you have to do each year (if you work/pay taxes via paycheck) and it usually starts around Feb and you have to have them in by April 1st.

I tend to do mine online, and on my own, to insure that I will get something back.

This is the site that I used last year and have been using this year.

I'll be getting back $750, which will help me to get a new car.

How and where is everyone else doing their taxes at?

Canada starts their tax push soon, you can already get software/do them online.

Technically, I have to have my taxes done; however, since I have no income, I get back a grand total of $0.

Since I'm currently self-employed with two business ventures, I had to do a lot of taxes. But since I made sure I had my taxes paid and paid in the right ammount, I pulled in a little over $1500 because of my daughter. This tax year was good, hopefuly the next one is just as good.

I just hate it when I'm on that tax site, and a page doesn't want to load.

My dad used to claim me even after I moved out, to help with money and bills. I really didn't mind, especially since I knew about it anyway.

<3 his taxes. My contribution helps pay for so much in this nation.

Here's to hoping that they institute nation public childcare.

Oh, this'll be fun. First year I've made enough to have to worry about taxes. Of course, that's including four jobs (one of which sent me a W2 despite the fact I hadn't worked there since three days before Christmas... 2003)... good thing Dad's handling this one. But I gotta learn somehow.

I'm getting around 3.5K back this year. My mom, it's around 4K for her. My dad is getting a lot back too.

It's called having a fiscalist do your taxes. It costs around 1500$ but she can normally get you back about 5-8 takes that amount.

Fiscalist is only good if you have a sizable income and a lot of money in a lot of places right? I after all, I make a little under $9,000/year and my money is either in the bank or with the government.

As for taxes, I believe I'm due to get all the money the government has withheld from me last year.

I should get a nominal amount back, but I think since my mom had me cash in some bonds for her, I'll end up having to pay some. Oh well, I don't do my own taxes.

When I'm on my own, I'll be screwed.

Well I dont have to deal with taxes yet, but my mom just finished with them. She said she is getting quite a bit back this year, enough to hopefully let us go on vacation like we've been planning for years. Ireland sounds nice.
