You know, your situation is similar to one that I'm in right now (and have had to deal with for several months already). Even if you already have your answer, let me contribute a bit  .My girlfriend is a freshman in college, and has established Theater as her major. That concentration requires her to participate in a number of the school's productions each year, and she's currently involved in her second. A combination of an unfortunate class schedule - she is often at school while I'm home, and vice versa - as well as rehearsals that have always been inconvenient but become moreso as opening night approaches, lead to nothing short of intense frustration on my part. Perhaps I've been spoiled by being able to see her almost every day under normal circumstances, but I don't deal well with her not-uncommon four or five day absences. As if rehearsals weren't bad enough, I seem to be far more sensitive than you when it comes to seeing my significant other showing affection to some other person, even on stage. Her current show requires nothing of the sort, but I winced when, as I sat through her previous play, she sat on another guy's knees. Scandalous! She literally did nothing more than sit atop his bent knees as he reclined on a bench. Surely they were cast as romantic partners, as well, but that was the extent of their onstage relationship. Now, in my rational mind, I know how grossly I overreacted when I saw that play. Flirtatious as the character she played was, I must keep in mind that not only was she playing a role, but she really did nothing that I could take exception to. But I had no control over how I felt. Just be aware that, though you may have complete control over how you are rationally viewing the situation, and you may come to fully accept it, you might not be able to supress a slight feeling of jealousy. Or, at least, that's my experience. |

Oh yeah I know if he tells me he has the part of Romeo I'll be super jealous and possibly throw fits.  I'm already irked enough when he goes through performing plays because I can't watch them.  DAMN THING CALLED DISTANCE! *shakes fist in anger* |
