I've been using a copy of Photoshop 5.5 and 7 for a while, and I'm considering coming clean and purchasing Photoshop Elements. My copy is in a grey area, and was handed to me by a friend who it was given to by a college when she undertook a course on the program. It's not cracked in any way. I would consider running elements if it has most of the same features as Photoshop that I use: Layers Brushes Hue / Saturation Colourise Level adjusting etc... Put simply I use a fair bit of the features of Photoshop, but I don't want to pay the extortionate and unjustified amount for a new copy. Has anyone ever used PE? |

Hmmm, I don't use PS but GIMP 2/PSP 8, but if I can trust the comparison pages between both programs, for most users Elements is just sufficient and the advanced layer management can be used by a work-around also in PE (although it might be a bit tedious as described). You also might check out that page: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshop/f/elementscompare.htm |

If you wanna know if Photoshop Elements is for you, I believe you can download a trial version of it. It does support layers and stuff, I've used it and recommended it to users before, but I haven't really delved too far into it's features to tell you too much about it. I think it would do the stuff you mentioned. But yeah, try the trial version. I don't think they cripple it in any way, so you can have a good look. It just expires after a set time. |
