I'll need a good IPS patcher and a good hex editor. Anyone have anything? Help would be appreciated.

The only IPS patcher I was able to find is JIPS, at this site.

As for Hex Editors, I'll say this much: Take your pick I don't know which one of those is the best, since I'm not running Linux, so you'll have to see which one you like the most

Nice. I'll have lots of hex editors to choose from! ^^. I cant use that JIPS. It's Java so I hate it.

Beggars can't be choosers.

If it's the only patcher you can find, then you'll either use it or make your own

UIPS is a simple command line patcher. It's at http://www.neillcorlett.com/uips/.

It's what I use.

would be quite nice to know if there's any hexeditor for linux that can handle thingy-tables. cause as far as i have seen, there's none of those on the site capable of loading such a translation-table...^^

Cellar Dweller: I'll have to look into that one when I switch to Linux.
FloBo: Exactly.

Yeah, your best bet is to run things through WINE. If your computer isn't very good though, things might be a bit slow.

For a linux based hexeditor with table support check here :
http://www.romhacking.com/utils/textutil.php

One of them is Hexedit 0.9.3 by prez.

From the readme :

WHAT ROMHACKING FEATURES HAVE YOU ADDED:

As of 0.9.3, I have implemented Table File use, and an
on-the-location ASM Pointer Calculator. (More below)

It doesn't say if the table support is thingy tables, but atleast it's a starting point
