Oh, lets see here... I played the recorder and the clarinet in elementary school, played an acoustic guitar for a few years (actually, I might pick it back up sometime soon), and I'm currently playing the Alto Sax in our school band.

I've noticed that alot of keyboard players own Casio keyboards. Only owning one of those for 10 years, it never really had much in it. In my opinion, Casio should stick to making calculators. :p

I just love the piano sound quality on my Yamaha PSR-275. It has almost everything I need, and it wasn't overly-expensive. 480 different tones, splitpoint variation, split volume, split instrument, split octave. OMG, the list goes on! Then you got all of that in Dual, which is 2 instruments playing on the same key, eg: Strings and Piano at the same time on the one key, *drools*

Ofcourse, there are alot better ones out there, but then you gotta dig deep into your wallet. I'd kill for better string instruments.

Hmmm, I played the piano for seven years - although it was classic music only (prefering Beethovens "Mondscheinsonate"), if I ever have the opportunity to use a piano/keyboard, it is something like an addiction to play something on that
I also would play known music tracks from movies or games, because the music is very important for me when I watch a movie or play a game. It is also funny to try playing music on that instrument usually not possible to do that (like tracks from Apocalyptica's CDs and such).

Later I finished the lessons when I was 13 years old (my mother was not angry , she payed the teacher - I did it voluntary and never regretted that ) due to the mass of practice I'd need to become a pianist (the teacher claimed I had the talent, since in my family there were many people with musical skill/musicians). And you got other interests in that age, but as said, beginning as a hobby wouldn't mind me but be nice to hit the keys again

Oddl, the best Violin sample I've heard to date comes from a Casio keyboard owned by one of my younger cousins. Weird.

Did you mean Keitaro when you said about Casio keyboard owners? Look up...::checks:: WK-3500, he posted that model number...you should see, it has 600 tones! And a bazillion buttons I do get to touch it sometime and I love it better than the Yamaha Clavinova my auntie has...but, ask him I guess

Kazoos pwn and yea...since you mentioned it, the WK-3500 has practicly everything...and since you also mentioned clavinova's, I don't care for their sohnd AT ALL. We have one at school, granted a bit out-dated, its still not as pleasing as my Casio. And besides, it has a floppy disk and flash drive, so you can expand the already full instrument library with stuff from the 'net or your own tones. Sweet deal

Give me a Kurzwell K2000 anyday over a Casio Hell, check out the Neko 64 keyboard, running an AMD Opteron 64 with XP and the ability to run any software synth. The best of both worlds!

I played the trumpet in high school. I was in Varsity Band/Jazz Band as well play in various groups in the community. I decided to stop after I graduated since I wanted to do other things.

I have When you've worked in a studio/with bands with proper equipment the yamaha psr series pale in comparison. Try Korg, they are far superior keyboards and the latest ones are bringing in sampling at affordable prices.

The neko 64 is about

the WK-3500 was a little over 500 bucks, more or less..and that Neko 64..I think I need a change of pants now and yeah, you mentioned Korgs...admittedly, there are much better Korg synths out there, and ones that are used in PROFESSIONAL settings--I don't play professionaly, and any gigs I do are usualy just for the love of the music, so I havn't found much of a need to shell out thousands upon thousands of dollars for a synth just yet but who knows what the future holds...hoping to be a music major, I may wind up needing one of those suckers further down the line

Alto Saxophone in Band at school, Tenor Saxophone in my leisure time at home, and I'm learning Trumpet.

My bro plays Baritone and is learing Bass Guitar.

I'm also getting into the ReMix scene (http://www.ocremix.org), but due to a crappy comp with Windows ME (save me ), I can't get any good recording equipment and such.
