Get a good x86 assembler (I like nasm), then learn x86 assembly. It's fun and productive (sort of)!

If you installed Linux, you could set it up as a webserver, but it'd only be good for small, well-written CGI and PHP scripts or static pages. Besides that, the HDD is too small for a decent (or even bare) Linux installation. It'd be more reasonable to go with NetBSD instead.

Honestly though, I'd just put a glass case around it and call it a decorative piece.

Do the thing where you set the power from 110V to 220V or the other way around. Start it up and film it.

Doom and Duke Nukem 3D are fun games.

*Maybe* it can handle it?

Considering my old friend showed me Doom on his computer when I was 5 ... like 12 years ago, so that computer back then couldn't have been THAT great.

It can handle it for sure. I have the exact same computer (except that the HD is like 1gb) and ran it fine.

I'd say keep it for old DOS stuff or mess around with Linux or a small server if you feel like it
Considering, Nesticle runs on full speed on a 486. Which is around 30 mhz.

Doom can even be run on a 386.

Heh, I do have this strange love for computers that is older than a pentium.

Hmm, one of my older funny computers is so old it doesn't support any 3D video cards, and the motherboard can't be removed.

The tower itself is pretty dumb looking itself, since it's horizontal. And it's yellow.

Either it's an old game machine, OR... I'd dare you to try install XP on it with SP2 and all. It only took me 5 hours to get SP2 onto my Celeron 300, so you'd take... at least 12 I'd say.

XP -requires- at least a 300MHZ to run.

So you'd have a hell of a time getting it to do so on that.

Well not only that, XP itself takes up nearly 4-5 GB.

It's not the number of MHZ that is the problem, but rather the OS.

And there is a few tricks to run old games like that one in Windows XP. I have played the Jazz Jackrabbit game myself, but only on my 486. Good times...
