| Save any parts that might be useful, make something out of the rest. I've made bracelets out of jumpers and string or wires from the power supply and so on. It's fun and makes an interesting gift. Otherwise, I vote Linux, because operating systems are fun. | |||

| Well... ah that's even worse than the one I aquired a couple years ago. 200mhz Pentium 1, 2.4 gb HD. I doubt anything's salvageable in terms of parts. Just too old. I'm still using the 2.4 gb hard drive from the old one as my C: drive, but 500mb is just too small for anything useful these days. I also kept the floppy drive, but I never use floppies anyways. The power supply is no good, likely. About the only other thing you could get out of it would be the case and maybe some IDE cables, and even that's iffy. I'd say just keep it around as something to fuck around with various technology. Like others have said, fool around with Linux, or make it run on only DOS or something. |

| I have worse and I use it as an IRC robot. A good old 133 MHz 486 (effectively equal to an 83~ MHz Pentium 1) boots quickly and is the most stable thing in existance. | |||

That old computer should at least be able to run NESticle at full speed, even NO$GMB for GameBoy, but that's about as far as it'd get for emulation  I'd say keep it for old DOS stuff or mess around with Linux or a small server if you feel like it |
