Is it possible to make classic koopas like those from smb3 where shell-less koopas don't come out? I want to use those in my hack. I don't want to have it complicated though. Like, use Mario Reconfigurator.

Of course it's possible... But it would be harder to do with Mario Reconfigurator than with a hex editor. What you would need to do is make it so when you jump on it, the sprite that shoots out of the shell is null, and instead of an empty shell, have it be a shell with something in it (so that it reverts to normal after time.)

Change ROM 0xAC15 to FF if you want the shelless koopa to hide in its shell when stepped on. Change it to 00 if you want an empty shell to remain without spawning a shelless koopa at all
