| It's not worth it. It's not worth all of the energy. There are other things, other people that matter more and wasting time on ones who shouldn't matter just doesn't bring any good to anyone. I thought some of you were better people. Especially since a certain ban was completely uncalled for. And no I'm not talking about Legion, I mean the recent Manda ban. Everybody does stupid things, but things happen to them and they can change and I know a genuine change-for-the-better when I see it. |

Christi: Board wise Manda didn't do anything, but you should have seen her on IRC. Considering how she acted against a few people in there, at least IIRC. I doubt she would be around for long on the board with the temper she had...  Besides, the staff wan't to keep permaban as a permaban right? Unless I got something wrong... As for not having just admins, I kinda like the mix, it gives viewpoints from both local, full and admin positions. That way, admins can even be demoted. Oh, and what "none of their "friends" were demoted"? Do you keep a list or something Yiffy Kitten? Of what friends I have? Or what friends Colleen have? I don't think so. The only thing I've heard - and read a bit on, on the old board - was that she made up stuff about her and Hiryuu and didn't admit to making it up. Again, I've tried to stay out of those discussions, because I really have no idea on what was going on, but if someone made up stuff about me and kept denying them being lies, I wouldn't exactly be happy either. | |||

It may have kept me on staff, it may not have. But just... in the future, before you demote people, ask them what's up first, give them a notice (as in a PM), and when you DO have chats to reorganize staff, make more active staff members attend. Especially ones who may not always agree - like Phil, or Rydain, or BMF. |

| I'm ready to "kiss and make up". I'm not sure how well a "invite (all | all active) staff and then tell them we'll have to get down in numbers" approach would work. That, if anything, would be about saving your own ass, and I'm pretty sure it'd end up worse than this when it's all done - if it ever gets done. I'm more in favor of the demote everyone and let Emuz and Acmlm do everything, because it's more in tune with how the board -should- work. I think everyone agrees that this is not a particularly good example of a perfect staff reconstruction, but I also think everyone agree with the fact that there's no such thing as a perfect staff reconstruction. Someone's bound to get upset about getting demoted, or getting demoted too far, or not getting promoted. Someone's bound to think it should be done differently. If we do end up using the same concept the next time around, I'd say including about 10 to 15 regulars that have at some point been considered for staff and letting them offer their opinions too. There's just no other way to do it completely fairly. (We weren't out to do it completely fairly either from what I've gathered. We were just out to remove people that didn't really contribute that much.) |
