Honestly, knuck is absolutely right. If the staff is to be consistent, and demotions made by activity, he's been less active in the last 4 months than I have been. And I also posted in the staff forum as well. FuSoYa NEVER posts in the staff forum.

So where's the consistency here? Am I the only one who believes that Jesper, Jizuko, Anya, Hiryuu/Rain, and Colleen are hypocritical? I would hope not. And if this thread is closed unjustly (as the last one was) it would just show that staff is trying to hide the injustices that were done and that they are trying to "quell an uprising" and keep the regular users ignorant as to what was going on.

That's because for some reason post count = status now. Did I miss that memo?

Will there be a change? Probably not. Yiffy Kitten, for what it's worth, they clearly don't want you around. And before this gets closed, I'll say this:

what happened was serious bullshit on many fronts...

What are you hoping to achieve by posting a thread like this? It's not like I can do anything about this. Lenophis can't. Knuck can't. Over 97% of us have no control over this whatsoever. So you got demoted, big whoop. It does sort of look like a backstab, but then again, if you were at those discussions I'd doubt you would have been demoted. It's not like they banned you. I'll be honest, to me during the past few months it was like you were invisible. Fine demod FuSoYa while you're at it. He was invisible to me as well, as BMF did most of the moderating lately. Personally I'd rather have a staff that is active, that I can connect with.

If you want to be an admin again, why don't you just talk it over with Acmlm. That would be your best bet rather than crucifying yourself like this.

Just a thought.

Oh yeah just to add, Yiffy Kitten lost internet for A MONTH during that period of 4 months.

- FuSoYa is pretty much a figurehead local mod, and I'll give you that much, but it would be stupid not to have the creator of Lunar Magic as a local mod of the SMW forum. Even if he was demoted to a regular user, he'd still have a mod spot there.

- There's nothing hypocritical going on here at all. First off, the committee looked at each staff member on a case-by-case basis. I certainly didn't go into the meeting with a list of people I wanted gone. It was not a "so-and-so wants him gone so that's how it's going to go" thing; we reached consensus on the issue. That's what you're not understanding - there were 6 people in the room and the final decision was that nobody raised any objections to the full demote.

We knew going into this that we were going to piss off people. If we didn't want to do that, then the staff wouldn't have gotten any smaller and the whole process would have been a waste of time. Some people understood what happened and in some cases took it extremely well, and I'm happy to see that. And there are others, like yourself, who didn't. I think we expected that.

- There weren't just too many admins; there were too many staff members period. We needed to get the staff down to a level which was acceptable, while still making sure that we had a lot of active members who are willing to contribute when it comes to board issues and will do their job. If I'm running a company and I only need 20 programmers and have 30, I need to lay off 10 people. None of them are going to like it, I don't expect any of them to like it, but that's how things have to be.

- Lenophis: Post count != status but it's an excellent indicator, at first glance, of seeing how active a particular staff member is. Of course, there's other factors to consider; for example, if the staff member isn't that active but does visible administrative work and contributes to staff forums (or communicates with other mods/admins via IM's/PM's when needed) then that's certainly acceptable as well. After 3 years here, you can figure this stuff out and get a sense of who's doing what.

- Finally... I'm just going to cut and paste from your profile, Tom.

Since I'm "Unfit" to be on staff, I deem this board "Unfit" due to the faoritism played by "The Triumvirate" (Colleen, Anya and Hiryuu). Even Rydain, someone highly deserving of her position, and who does FAR more admin work than Anya, was demoted.

First off, we were of agreement that Rydain could be promoted back to admin in the near future. It happened faster than we expected, but nobody was shutting the door on her; I was one of the people who said that we NEEDED her on staff in some capacity, be it full mod or admin. I was fully willing to accept either possibility, but she wasn't going lower than full mod.

Secondly, if myself/Anya/Hiryuu held the power on the board, we'd have three admins in that group - not two. And there's no plans at the present time to promote Hiryuu to admin status, we're fine on that front. We might share views on some subjects, yes; but in no way does that make us all-powerful and the like.

It's not about whining, it's about respect. And if Colleen and Anya and Hiryuu can't respect me, then I don't want to be around them. I am (was, I suppose) a senior admin. And I was demoted by junior staff. Backstab, anyone~?

When did I ever come out and say that I don't respect you? Before today, I respected you. I wasn't demoting you out of hatred or anything, it was just because that had to be done. You did the board a great service in the past and we're grateful to you for doing so... but at the same time, posting stuff like this is the worst way of handling the situation. Personally, I thought you may have been able to show a little more tact in this scenario; hell, if you had just PMed/IMed me or any of the other admins and asked why you were demoted, we would have been happy to sit down with you and discuss it.

And the whole senior admin theory is BS. By that logic, Danicess would still be an admin today even if she's sadly vanished off the face of the earth. I don't think there was or should be any immunity regarding long-time staff members; if I vanished for 4+ months, I'd fully expect to be demoted when I came back. I wouldn't be doing what I was supposed to be doing.

As far as I (and the staff from what I've seen) is concerned, you're not doing yourself any favors by acting like this. That's not a threat or anything, but if you're disappointed... fine. It's one thing to be disappointed, it's another thing to act childish and defensive.

A reconstruction shouldn't be made based on the opinions of 6 (out of 33) staff members. That's less than 20% of staff. You can't get different points of view with so few people, and it's even worse when those 6 people got similar opinions.

6 people in the room. Because, you know, major decisions like this can be made with 6 people in the room (Really, 5 pressuring the 1, that being Ace)

Some people understood what happened and in some cases took it extremely well, and I'm happy to see that. And there are others, like yourself, who didn't. I think we expected that.
Really, other active members were demoted from administrator to nothing? And they didn't care, if so?

There weren't just too many admins; there were too many staff members period. We needed to get the staff down to a level which was acceptable, while still making sure that we had a lot of active members who are willing to contribute when it comes to board issues and will do their job. This isn't a company. We aren't PAID to admin/mod (at least I wasn't. Where's my backpay?). In fact I DONATED money. How many of you can say the same? WELL?

Of course, there's other factors to consider; for example, if the staff member isn't that active but does visible administrative work and contributes to staff forums (or communicates with other mods/admins via IM's/PM's when needed) then that's certainly acceptable as well.
And yet you didn't take any of that into consideration when demoting me.

First off, we were of agreement that Rydain could be promoted back to admin in the near future. It happened faster than we expected, but nobody was shutting the door on her
Let's make this straight: She was readminned by Emuz ONLY because I brought this issue up and made a fuss about it. And Emuz is royally PISSED. He (along with others) think "Acmlm needs to take control of his board back".

Secondly, if myself/Anya/Hiryuu held the power on the board, we'd have three admins in that group - not two. And there's no plans at the present time to promote Hiryuu to admin status, we're fine on that front.
So you're saying Anya's affair with Hiryuu does not cause either one of them to support each other that much, to the point where anything one says, the other agrees with/does?

Before today, I respected you.
And now you don't, because I'm blowing the whistle on you?

It's one thing to be disappointed, it's another thing to act childish and defensive.
I didn't realize I was being childish. I thought I was conveying my point quite well. Being childish would be saying something like "Colleen, you're an asshole" or something like that.

Oh, and

I certainly didn't go into the meeting with a list of people I wanted gone.
Perhaps YOU PERSONALLY didn't, but the logs indicate there was indeed a list...

I'm getting a little tired of these 5 people at the meeting trying to pretend that demoting someone without notifying them first isn't incredibly disrespectful, offensive, and rude. It's been said before, but it hasn't apparently been listened to, so I'll say it again. How would you like it if you signed on one day to do your job (which you pay to do, not get paid to do, though that's beside the point) and found out that you were fired?

And I find it interesting that you say that you didn't go into this thing with a list of people to slap in the face (aka demote without notification), yet every single person on this "list which doesn't exist" were conveniently not invited to this little quintet.

From here, it looks like you're whining. Crying over spilt milk. So what do you want to happen now? The way I see it, you can either keep bitching untill we finally get sick of hearing it and ignore you or just shrug, say "Fuck it" and walk away. We're just normal users, we can't do shit so there's no point complaining to us. Surely this is something better solved in private. We don't care who's admin, as long as the work gets done. So what do you want?

What do you think? I have said it before. Add two and two together. I WANT PEOPLE TO SEE HOW THIS IS BULLSHIT. HOW THERE IS FAVORITISM PLAYED HERE. If you can't INFER that from what I am posting, then you're exactly the kind of user they want. A blind follower, or someone who doesn't hear what I'm saying, and views it as whining and "STFU TOM!"

Yeah, I mean what do you want to achieve? Some kind of open rebellion? I know, we could take the staff forum by force! OMFG. I don't have any problem with the staff and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

It wasn't just Colleen, Anya and Rain making the decisions, I know Kasumi was there because I got kicked off my bed so she could use my PC just like I know she puts thought into her decisions. And this 'secret list' you're all chewing over. Maybe it was a list.... of STAFF. You know, go into the memberLIST and click on All Staff. That's right, we can all see this "list". There. Is. No. Conspiracy.

Surprising that you would defend your boyfriend. Regardless, conspiracy or not, it was BS and done improperly. As Krel said, "I'm getting a little tired of these 5 people at the meeting trying to pretend that demoting someone without notifying them first isn't incredibly disrespectful, offensive, and rude. It's been said before, but it hasn't apparently been listened to, so I'll say it again. Why were there only 5 people in the room (6 if you count Acmlm, who was just in there to cover your own asses)? The memberlist lists 28 staff members - AFTER the demotions. So that works out to about 1/6th of staff. ONE SIXTH of the staff was in the room making the decisions on this.

I'd like to see you be "Active" when the closest you can get to the internet is signing on a laptop in the classroom when you possibly have 5 free minutes in class.

Well, my two cents: Getting angry about it doesn't help. Throwing around accusations doesn't help, and throwing around words like "bullshit" "crying over spilt milk" "favoritism" etc don't help either.

In an argument, it's been shown that people don't listen to what the other person is saying. Too busy trrying to push what they need to say -- trying to win the argument -- people seldom listen to what the other person is saying.

If you are upset about this -- and it is obvious that you are -- my advice to you for the moment is to take a step back. Take a deep breath. And try to approach this without getting angry. This goes for all of you.

Nothing is going to get resolved like this. So, like I said, take a step back, and try again when you're all a little calmer. When people's emotions aren't running so high, we might be able to actually approach this issue.

I hope we can get things all sorted out.

I hope that cooler heads will prevail. The way this has been handled thus far isn't getting anybody anywhere, and I really hope that this can all be discussed calmly and rationally.

Course, I may be being too optimistic, but still.

I don't think this problem is beyond solving -- but it'll be damned difficult if things keep going as they currently are!
