I can assure you the timing is identical, but the boarders for each one is different (if you're viewing them on a dark background you'll definitely notice the 'halo' on the first one). I guess maybe your browser is acting up if the timing is messed. |

Timing is fine here, the middle is starting little before the ones surrounding it. But timing wise it's the same. The one in the middle seems to start later than the other two, which is synced perfectly. It's odd behavior thought, but that's maybe I should post in the Mozilla forums. One thing I noticed with the Mozilla browsers is that they support lower delay than IE, just not much lower. IE have a minium delay of 7 or something... I think it was. You should just seen at school where GIF files did play with a delay of 1 or something. And slowed the computer down in the progress... why it does that is beyond me. But it was IE 5.0... Edit: Hah, I just guess why they have diffrent. Firefox actually starts generating the page when it's loading, while IE is not as fast. Reload the page when it's in the cache, then they are "synced". The same thing could happen in IE too. As far I know it, GIF's run as well in both Mozilla and IE. I have no idea about Opera but I guess that one should run it fine. Yeah, I noticed that a lot of gifs run faster for me on Firefox and Opera than IE.

The reason for the timing error is because the GIFs load at different times. that means they start at different times, and if there's no timing difference they'll remain 'unsynced' until you refresh.

IE supports a delay of 6. I would prefer a much slower delay for some animations but I want my .gif files to be generally viewable by all. Last time I used Firefox all the .gif files ran generally slower, which was depressing to watch. (edited by Fyxe on 02-19-05 10:05 AM) |

I've seen different browsers act wierd on different computers with GIFs. Example, some GIFS ("the_raven"s avatar) are set to a delay of 1 for some stupid reason, and they'll go at that absurd rate on my 800mhz POS... yet on the newer, 2.4GHZ computer, they'll run at a slower rate. |

Beezo is a good GIF animation that runs nicely in Firefox but horrible in IE. In Firefox it goes as fast as in the game, but in IE it goes much slower... I have no idea about Opera thought. Red Yoshi must have a lower delay than 6, as it's going faster in Firefox than IE. (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 02-22-05 11:06 AM) |
