DarkSlaya entered to place were his next battle would be. It looked much different than the last one. While being an arena, the fighting grounds seemed to be desert-like.

DarkSlaya: There isn't much to do with place, isn't it? I guess I'll have to find ways to use the ground to my advantage.... especially since my weapon doesn't seem to like it...
Anyway, I'll just sit somewhere while waiting.... a few good strategies could help.

DarkSlaya sat on the sand and closed his eyes. He wasn't sleeping, but thinking about his relatives... the mysteries that were in him and how he could use them to put up a good fight.

Janus: "Alright, guys, let's break it down."

The five men were standing in the wings of the arena before the battle began... DarkSlaya was already on the field, of course. Sand everywhere... Who would go this time?

Grey: "Are you gonna fight, this time? Can you PLEASE fight, this time?"

Detective Grey, still visibly shaken from his battle with Dracoon, in which a last-second save by Satchel managed to keep his head on his shoulders, looked at Janus, full of fear. He sure as heck didn't want to join in on this one...

Just then, Agent Blue spoke...

Blue: "Actually, I would appreciate it if I were able to engage the foe, this time."

Red looked at him incredulously, along with Green.

Red: "You mean, alone? You're not all that good in a battle by yourself, you know."

Blue: "It has already been proven that I would not have been able to defeat Dracoon in a battle. There was no reason for me to volunteer if the facts lay so obviously in front of me. However, considering the situation and the opponent, I believe, if Janus is unwilling to fight, that the person with the greatest tactical advantage would be myself."

Blue's tone was cold, and calculating. His sunglasses activated and ready, he scanned the arena. Fully desert-like. The water vapor levels were impressively high, considering the warm nature of the battleground and the amount of moisture around the arena. Like a beach, without the actual ocean.

Janus: "John, I'm not too sure if this is such a good idea. You could get seriously hurt."

Blue: "Janus, you, Evan, Grey, and Jason have always considered me the weakest among all of us. Perhaps you have a misunderstanding of the term. I will show you. Alone, one Agent only has a 33% chance of winning a straight fight with someone, and as you know, that generally compiles based on our use of teamwork. However, I see various tactical advantages that raise my chances of victory to a flat fifty percent, which is considerably better than Evan's, Jason's, or Grey's."

The crowd began murmuring as DarkSlaya sat alone in the field... Blue's decision was solid. He crossed his arms, closed his eyes, and waited for Janus' assent.

Red: "Janus, let him go. He wants to, there's no reason why he shouldn't. He's a scientist, let's see him come up with his proof."

Janus sighed, and his shoulders slumped.

Janus: "I'm against it... But alright. I can't give you Satchel to help you, though. He's still not in very good condition from that last fight, and I don't want him getting hurt."

Blue's eyes narrowed as he faced the arena with a sense of stolid resignation...

Blue: "I will not require any help, Janus."

Janus smiled and placed his hand on his friend's shoulder.

Janus: "Alright, John. Give 'em hell."

Blue: "Not a chance. Far too warm."

He walked out onto the sand to face his opponent...

DarkSlaya: Took you less time than expected. It's not like I hate this sand, but could we begin this fight?

DarkSlaya walked toward his opponent, not in an hostile way...more in a polite way.

DarkSlaya: You look like you have some confidence... good. Now, may the best man win!

Then, DarkSlaya suddenly stopped walking.... instead he began to run!

OOC: Sorry, if this post is very poor in everything. I was just not feeling like sim-battling, but had to post to make this tournament go smooth.

Blue's sunglasses shined for an instant in the gleaming sun as they turned on and began displaying physical statistics about his target...

Name: DarkSlaya
Age: ??
Weight: Human
Type: Humanoid
Resistance to Cold: ??
Analysis: User Definition

Blue (thinking): I see... This looks familiar. If he is up to what I believe he may be up to...

More statistics flashed across Blue's glasses as DarkSlaya continued to run...

Area Details: Sand/Desert
Relative Humidity: 76%
Primary Water Source: Human Spectators

Blue closed his eyes, concentrated, and clouds began to form above the desert...

DarkSlaya stopped to run. He was close to Blue, however he didn't try to attack. He felt something wasn't quite right, he just didn't what.

DarkSlaya: You just did something, don't you? I don't know what, but I felt it.... I guess it doesn't matter, doesn't it? Sorry to have this fight interrupted.

DarkSlaya then jumped in the air and made himself fall like a rocket would. His target wasn't Blue, it was the sand....

OOC: Well, Schwa, Since you never actually told me what it does....

Blue: "You are correct!"

In an instant, the storm clouds erupted into a raging rainstorm from the humidity of the area surrounding the arena (and a little bit of Blue's powers)! Blue produced from inside of his suit coat a small, pyramid-shaped object, which he had recieved during his adventures with Schwa! As the sand turned to wet mud and the rain put the arena on the course of what appeared to be a flash-flood in the making, Blue calmly explained what the object's abilities were...

"This device I received from a mission with Schwa, one of our judges. It is a rather simple device, once its powers are figured out, but its use is exemplary. The device tunes itself to the psyche of the user, you see. It changes the world around them to better suit the contents of their mind..."

The rain continued to fall around him. Blue's suit got extremely wet, of course, but he didn't care. He began sinking in the sand, and soon his feet were enveloped by the wet powdered rock.

"My mind is a fairly sad one, as I am sure you can see by this sudden change in weather. That is what it is, essentially. A weather control device. When used by one of my compatriots, the sun will shine or lightning will strike, it all depends on how the user feels at the time. I, however, have managed to control my emotions to ensure the best possible environment for my abilities! Observe!"

The raindrops that fell around him reacted to Blue's abilities. They froze in midair, combined into larger clumps of water, and the cold-hearted scientist himself stopped sinking in the sand, having formed a platform of ice and sand, which he stepped onto. The larger clumps froze into ice balls, which began revolving around him rapidly, forming a swirling shield of ice around him!

From within the arena, Grey, Janus, Red, and Green are all watching interestedly...

Red: "Wow, he figured out what that thing did? I never could quite get it under control."

Green: "...."

Janus: "Wait. You guys have had a WEATHER CONTROL DEVICE all this time, and you never once thought to use it against me?"

Red: "Well, most of the time we forgot it at home. Plus, we got it after we met Schwa, remember?"

Janus: "Oh... So then why... No, I shouldn't ask. Paradox."

Grey: "You people scare the crap out of me."

DarkSlaya made a big hole in the sand while falling. However, since it was wet, he had problems moving.

DarkSlaya: What is this?

Fire Magic - Immolation

A thin red/green/yellow aura could be seen from DarkSlaya. The purpose of it was to make the water close to him disapear.

DarkSlaya: I guess this rain won't affect me much, now would it?

Blue: "I will prove to them that I am strong!"

The balls of ice swirled faster and faster, and more balls formed around Blue, until eventually he was almost unseen among them. He stepped forward on top of the mud, every footfall landing on a newly-formed sheet of ice. Blue moved slowly -- it was tough to keep this level of concentration and move quickly at the same time, even for someone with his mental capabilities...

As he got closer and closer to DarkSlaya, Blue's revolving iceball shield began to expand ever so slightly. More and more ice gathered around him, and the existing iceballs grew to the size of basketballs, still swirling with the same speed. A drop of sweat froze to Blue's brow as the intense cold complemented his ardent focus...

And from the stands...

Red: "This isn't like John... He's not usually this aggressive."

Janus: "Maybe he's gotten sick of you and Jason always putting down his skills."

Red: "Doubtful. He was pretty much correct, he's got extremely good emotional control. The odds of John flipping out on somebody due to some kind of repressed anger, especially in a setting like this tournament, are slim to nil. Something's gotta be wrong."

Grey: "Maybe he's conducting some kind of experiement?"

Red: "Possibly. John's never really been able to test himself in a controlled setting like this tournament."

Janus: "Ick... Well, Evan, for everyone's sakes, let's hope he doesn't get angry. If that device came from someone associated with Schwa, chances are it's pretty volatile when anger comes into play."

Red: "You don't have to tell me, of all people, that."

Janus nodded as they all solemnly watched Blue in action...

DarkSlaya (thinking): Interesting, let's see he far his power can go.

??? (only heard by DarkSlaya): Don't do it.

DarkSlaya (to ???): I know, I know. Don't worry, I'm not gonna at blindly.

DarkSlaya took a defensive stence..... or so it seemed.

DarkSlaya: Now now, don't rush!

Blue: "Ice Golem!!!"

Instantly, the collection of iceballs all converged on Blue, completely encasing him in ice! A second later, a rush of wind blew outward from the ice case, and a humanoid creature made entirely of iceballs unfolded, standing 20 feet tall with Blue enshelled in its torso, controlling its every movement!

"Tip of the iceberg, noble adversary, tip of the iceberg!"

The golem, standing shin-deep in the layer of mud, waded towards DarkSlaya with ease, and took a swing at him with a massive fist of ice! The golem's movements were slow, but one hit with a fist that size and DarkSlaya would be sent flying, for sure...

Red's eyes widened as he watched his best friend create a giant ice mech before his very eyes... Of all people, Red knew Blue the best, and yet he had never seen anything like this before.

Red: "Well. That's new."

Janus: "And unhealthy."

Green: "....."

Red: "He never told me he could do that."

Grey: "I think that was the point, man. Look how impressed you are now."

Red: "Touche..."

DarkSlaya tried to dodge the attack, however it was too late. The massive fist hit and DarkSlaya was pushed back with extreme power. He was in the air and would crash on the ground at an high speed.

DarkSlaya: I......WON'T.......LOSE......THAT.......EASILY!

Wind Magic - Cyclone

DarkSlaya used his cyclone to prevent his fall. He was in the middle of the cyclone but he didn't feel anything. After a few second, the ground didn't have any water in it anymore.

DarkSlaya: How's the arm of that fist that hit me. I doubt it's still in a perfect state as my aura was one of fire.... it had a burning heat.

Indeed, DarkSlaya's reasoning was perfect! The fist that hit him was quite crippled, a melted shadow of what it once was...

Blue: "Impressive, but it will take more than that to defeat my ice golem!"

Suddenly, pieces of ice from all around the body help to reform the hand! It's a good thing Blue's got that ice cockpit to keep him cool, or he'd be sweating his suit off with the focus he's taking this battle to...

Oddly enough, however, the ice golem seems somehow smaller than it was before... As though the pieces of ice actually WERE taken from the rest of its body...

"I hold no fear for fire!"

The golem leaps into the air and lands hard in front of DarkSlaya, sending a rush of newly formed mud from the rainstorm at him!

At this point, Red is getting increasingly interested in Blue's fighting style...

Red: "This is strange... Blue knows full well how to deal with fire, why is he matching DarkSlaya's attacks with more ice?"

Janus: "Maybe he's concentrating all of his energy on impressing us, rather than performing well in the battle."

Red: "Hmph, that's selfish of him..."

DarkSlaya: Don't play dumb on me, I know you're preparing something. You're not stupid, but yet you continue to counter with ice. I won't fall for it.

DarkSlaya's aura disapeared. He didn't want to risk a surprise attack.

DarkSlaya: I'll have to find a way to make sure there's nothing you can do. But for now, I shall hack 'n slash until you're weak!

DarkSlaya ran toward Blue with his sword in front of his face to block a quick attack.

The hacks and slashes ripped chunks off of Blue's golem, and it was plain to see he was having difficulty keeping it together, as every separated chunk invited a repair stemming from the rest of the golem's body.

Blue: "You have guessed correctly, my foe!"

As soon as DarkSlaya's sword next connected to the golem's body, it burst into pieces, as Blue dropped into the mud and the rainstorm raged around him. The shards of ice collected around Blue, much smaller than before, and much sharper, as well, almost as though the round iceballs had acted as broken glass snow-globes. Blue's golem had been defeated rather easily, but the scientist was undaunted. He exclaimed confidently to DarkSlaya as the sharpened pieces of ice began to swirl around him again...

"You fail to see the obvious advantage I have in this environment, and that is what will lead to your defeat at my hands! Unless you can figure out how to use the terrain to your advantage, as I have, you will most certainly be cut to shreds!"

Blue's words, however, were much more effective than his attacks. As he said this, the swarm of shards was sent straight at DarkSlaya, though individual cuts like those were sure to do almost nothing to DarkSlaya's natural defenses. Nevertheless, Blue couldn't let DarkSlaya call his bluff.

Not at this point, anyway...

DarkSlaya (whispering): Something's wrong, that was too easy.

DarkSlaya's aura came back around him, providing him defense again Blue's attack. On contact, the shards melted and became pure water.

DarkSlaya: Field advantage, you say? My training included fighting warriors in their own terms, meaning the had that advantage. However, I gotta give you credit for controling yourself this well. I mean, making the field become your element was quite smart. But it seems you've put that power to upgrade your abilities. How is wasting power on giving yourself power gonna help you. That golem of yours was merely a waste of time and energy, unless you had something else in mind. Seeing how good of a tactician you are, that gotta be it.......... Oh my! I talked too much, again.

His aura disapeared again.... DarkSlaya was gonna fight without it, and he knew he could put up a fight without it.

Blue (thinking): 'I cannot believe it... He is actually going along with this? Interesting opportunity....'

Blue straightened out of his fighting stance, his sunglasses locked onto DarkSlaya...

Name: DarkSlaya
Age: ??
Weight: Human
Type: Humanoid
Resistance to Cold: Flame Elemental
User Analysis: . . . . Tactical advantage suggested. . . .

"I see..."

Blue closed his eyes, and extended his right arm outward, as the rainstorm stopped, and a sunny day overcame the heated arena once again. In a moment, the sand dried up, and the humidity radiated off the ground as it did before.

As he no longer had to keep his focus on the Ice Golem, and he had a hunch that DarkSlaya would refuse to attack him, Blue simply began to concentrate, enshelling himself in an ice encasement formed from the humidity in the air.

His right arm suddenly began to become very, very cold...

DarkSlaya: Something's wrong, again. I hate this feeling....

DarkSlaya was feeling that Blue was preparing something... but he couldn't firgure out what. After all, everything was gone.... the battlefield was like in the beggining.

DarkSlaya: I won't be needing this anymore....

His fiery aura then disapeared.... again.

DarkSlaya: I'll stop holding back my attacks.... I'll stop delaying them. There's no point at going softly at each other.... and the crowd seems to be getting sleepy. Of course, I'm starting to figure you out... but I think you're doing the same for me. Wait a minute..... are you even listening to me?

DarkSlaya saw Blue concentrating.... and saw the cold that was around his foe's hands.

DarkSlaya: *sight* I guess not.

DarkSlaya drew his sword, which he didn't touch at all during the battle... In fact, he hasn't used it in a long time, from how the sword looked.

DarkSlaya: This sword looks old, doesn't it? You might think so, or might not, but the fact remains that it is more powerful than my other weapons. I've been seeing what you're doing... and there's no doubt that I'm going to need all I've got

Red raised another eyebrow at Blue's technique...

Red: "He hasn't used that one in a long time. Not since that day he met with Schwa, actually..."

Janus: "I remember it. He never actually hit me with it, you know. Came close, though. And even then, it nearly gave me frostbite."

Blue's ice encasement melted into the ground, revealing the suited warrior in the hot desert sun. His arm glowed a light, icy blue, and the water vapor in the air froze and dropped to the ground around it, melting instantly on contact with the sand. The melted water sent steam into the air, which evaporated and left the arena with a very high level of moisture in the atmosphere.

Blue: "-273.15 degrees Celsius... The coldest temperature known to man. No heat, whatsoever. A total lack of kinetic energy."

He stepped toward DarkSlaya. A sword would prove to be an interesting defense against this...

"In an atmosphere like that, one would flash-freeze instantly on exposure. Goodness, it only takes -50 degrees Celsius to make one's saliva freeze in midair after being spit out of the mouth."

Blue stopped about twenty feet away from DarkSlaya, and lowered his arm in front of him, pointing an open palm toward the ground. The material on his suit actually started to wear from the intense cold...

"Is my arm that cold? I cannot really say. I would appreciate it, however..."

At this, he took off at a sprint towards DarkSlaya, rushing him and holding his arm back, palm open, ready to strike!

"If you would find out for me! Absolute Zero!!!"

As he reached DarkSlaya, Blue swung his arm forward, striking at DarkSlaya with a palm charged with enough cold to freeze a redwood tree!

DarkSlaya: This time, I'll really know if this sword is as strong as they say!

DarkSlaya took a defensive position, but different from how he'd normally stand. It seemed that he didn't use this weapon for a long time, and that he wasn't quite sure to be able to counter attack properly.

DarkSlaya: I..I..I can handle it.

For one of the first time of his life, DarkSlaya experienced a form of fear.... first time since the 'incident"

DarkSlaya: Yes, I can!!

DarkSlaya blocked Blue's punch... or so it seemed. The attack was beggining to freeze the blade, and soon pushed DarkSlaya back. The sword was repelled and DarkSlaya was now nearly down for the count.
