Thank you, Wikipedia.

Sounds like a lot of games I used to play, most notably variants on chess. I can't contribute, though, until I get a comprehensive listing of railway stations on the London Underground. Find one of those for me and I'll gladly join in.

Although technically it is possible to win by simply announcing "Mornington Crescent", that would completely defeat the purpose of the game. It has happened at least once on air, albeit after the player concerned spent four minutes discussing the particular rules they were playing by. The true intent of the game is to be funny, and all other rules are invoked solely in the service of this objective.

You may have won, but you lose.

Dude, that explaination of Mornington Cresent is SO wrong. I would suggest you perchase the guidebook to the 3rd Edition with the 5th Regulation rules explained, along with the Australian rules subguide. This should give you enough basic information to play some serious Mornington Cresent, but of course everybody KNOWS the very basic rules anyway.

Are you sure the 'Churchill' method is legal in the updated 3rd Edition? Unless we're playing RulsUp rules.

We need a map up for those who've forgotten.

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/pdfdocs/colormap.pdf

I'll go for Woodford.

...ooh, I had a old copy of that map from my grandfather. I needed a new copy.

Are we playing the turnbased or the realtime version? Or it's an mix of both now?

(this owns Calvinball in terms of humour. But then I do adore Brittish humour more than american...)

Can't we have the rule that it's forbidden to say any word including the letter M?

You took me right out of the game the moment you mentioned "3rd Edition". That alone equals unmeasurable complexity.

Right, given the Lower-Left Asian Guide of Pseudo-Opposites as postulated by Biz Defferson, I will play South Acton.

It's simple if you think about how the rules work. You can't flip the verb list unless DTMF is in 3 or more. That easy.

OK, maybe I will play after all...

*loads London subway map*

OH DEAR GOD. That is... it's... absolutely mindboggling! Why can't it be like the Montreal subway?

Um... after flipping through a few pages of strategy that made absolutely no sense to me, I'll just pick Cyprus.

(.....CYPRUS?!?)

Good move! That not only prevents me from going to Bacontree, and enacts the Oxford Comma. That said: Upney.

T-centralen.

Edit: "The rules to the game of Brockian Ultra-cricket, as played in the higher dimensions are strange and inexplicable. A full set of the rules is so massively complicated that the only time they were all bound together to form a single volume, they underwent gravitational collapse and became a black hole."

Haha! The ship's left hatch is open! I move for Old Street. Triple word score!

Um, the ship's hatches are inaccessible if a letter that appears twice in your move also appears twice in the previous move ('e' in this case). Old Street is still a feasible move, but the triple word score doesn't apply and you're upside-down for 1d6 rounds, unless The Oracle allows you to atone.
