My graphics designer just whipped this one up for me and we coded it.

It does NOT scroll, as I've got complaints of my previous layout. The only problem that I'm aware of currently is stretching with images.... I'll just have to remember that next time I think of posting one

So... yeah, watcha guys think?

To be honest, I liked your old one better. Yeah, it doesn't scroll so that's better, but the thing should be wider. The Vyper text in the top left needs more contrast so it's easier to see, make it brighter. You should probably make your menu with your webpage links at the left semi-transparent as well to look better and match with your post box. You might wanna make your post text bold so you can see it easier as well.

8/10

I think jasukan has the best layout. =-o

But Vyper, I like yours too. It doesn't horizontally stretch, and it doesn't tile properly, but the graphics are very well done.

Stupid FireFox

It doesn't want to recognize the CSS for the sidebar. If you take a quick detour in IE you'll see that it is semi-transparant and that it's got Sephiroth in the background. Also, do you have your monitor on low color settings? I can see the text perfectly. Oh well...

Dylan, how doesn't it tile properly?

Thanks Dylan!

Yeah, I see that stuff in IE now. I still think it should be Firefox compatible though, since everyone is making the move. IE and Firefox are pretty different however in how they process HTML, so i'ts pretty hard to make things perfect for both sides. If you can't find a way though, then the way you have it will be just as fine. And about the text, some dark areas of your image background make the text sorta hard to read in places because it's so skinny. It's still easily readable, however.

Yeah, I know what you mean, Jasukan. I'm still working with it to get it to be compatibale for both browsers. As for the text, I'll change it sometime. For now, however, I'll leave it be. Curse my laziness

Here's what I see when I do View Source in Firefox:

<STYLE type=text/css
<br>BODY #side{background-image:url(http://fffire.com/images/vyper-layout/sig_03.jpg); background-repeat:repeat-x; padding:0px;} #content{background-image:url(http://fffire.com/images/vyper-layout/sig_05.jpg); background-repeat:repeat-x; padding:0px;}
<br>--!></style>

You left out the ending > for <style>. Furthermore, you have a full <body> in there too. Please don't do that. Replace the <body> with <div class="viper-layout"> and make the stylesheet rules use .viper-layout #side and .viper-layout #content instead. Also, if I were you, I'd replace the inline stylesheet with a link to a stylesheet. (Upload the stylesheet, then insert <style>@import "http://fffire.com/[rest of address to stylesheet";</style>.)

Edit: Oh, and the color clashes might be because of different board schemes. Different board schemes use different light shades (white, light green, etc).
