| For a piece of university work, I need to 'identify five specialized terms related to your operating system, for example, an Applications Programmer Interface (API) in Windows.' The problem being I don't know any specialized terms related to Windows. If I could get some of them, I could look up the info on them myself. |

| GDI, kernel, GUI, shell, dunno The first four are what I thought up. None of them are related specifically to Windows (nor is API), but OSes in general. Actually, there's probably very little that is only in Windows. |

| RPC is not a Windows thing (some flavors of Unix do have it) but I guess it is notorious for it... might want to add CLR (Common Language Runtime) |
