Well, and considering that the diffrent links looks diffrent and have diffrent hair colours...

I think that's the most offical is that it's OOT>MM>WW then after that it's uncertain. Maybe there is just not set timeline, just to confuse the fans.

I wouldn't say that Majoras mask is in another world, rather in another country. It's not the first adventure in another country, links awakning anyone?

He's the same age as Link in OoT.

He's the same age as Link in OoT.

Which doesn't make sense, as the OoT Link that defeated Gannon was 17.
All the 10-year-old Link did was to grab the Master Sword, and allow Gannon to get the Triforce, which doesn't really make a good role model for the kids.

True, but it is custom in the village where WW Link grew up to dress up like the legendary hero when you turn the same age he was at when he began his quest... Therefore WW Link is 10.

Anyway... Zelda's there. Then Adventures of Link follows it.

Link to the Past is stated to be before Zelda.

Link's Awakening isn't stated to be anywhere, though based on a few things in that game it's obvious he's one of the other ones, there seems to be the most evidence that it's Link to the Past.

OoT is stated to be the first one, before Link to the Past. MM follows OoT, and Wind Waker is afterward.

I've never played Oracle of Seasons or Oracle of Ages, but I recall hearing they're directly after Link to the Past. I don't know in which order they happen, though.

If there is any single timeline, it probably look something like this... (| separates different Links)

Ocarina of Time > Majora's Mask | The Wind Waker | A Link to the Past > Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons > Link's Awakening | The Legend of Zelda > The Adventures of Link.

...that last statement was trying to be sarcastic against that Master sword statement. Oh well. :/

But well, any bets on where in the timeline the new Zelda would fit in?

No. The only "proof" people have is the fact that you see Link sailing home to Hyrule in the ending.
The Zelda and Link of the Oracle games had never met before. Obviously, it doesn't involve any of the Links we've played as earlier, as they've all met a Zelda.

As for what order they happen it, it doesn't really matter, as the same events will take place no matter which game you play first.

As for when the Oracle games take place, the plot deals with
Spoiler:
the Complete Triforce sending the hero Link to another land, where he is to stop the revival of Gannon.

The correct order would be

Ocarina of Time > Majora's Mask | The Wind Waker | A Link to the Past > Link's Awakening | Oracle of something > Oracle of something else | The Legend of Zelda > Adventure of Link

Then there's the Vaati games, but the only one I've played is Four Swords +, and it was in japanese, so I didn't really get the story. It definitly takes place AFTER OoT > MM, though.

I heard that The Minnish Cap is before all the other games, and that it tells of how the hero of the legends got that floppy hat thing and possible other things too, and the game features Vaati, then either FS+ and then FSA happen, or it's the other way around, though it's possible for the two games to have happened farther in the future, I haven't seen the ending of Minnish Cap though.

Oh yeah. Four Swords Adventures. I'm pretty sure it takes place after a Link to the Past, because of the whole six maidens + the seal thing. No clue as to whether it's after Link's Awakening or not, though.

No, it's pretty well stated that Ocarina of Time is the first one, I believe. Though, both it and Link to the Past explain how Ganon acquired the power he has... Anyway, the floppy hat in Minish Cap is sentient, not so of the others, thus it has no bearing on the others. Where did you hear this, though? Was it on some board, or on an official site?

FS+ and FSA is the same game, except FS+ has Navi Trackers, which kicks ass.

Gannon is in FS+/FSA, so that game isn't set before the others.

Yeah, LttP pretty much describes the events of OoT in the intro, and a few other places (like the tree guy near Palace of Darkness). OoT simply expands upon this legend, and let gamers experience them themselves.

FS and FSA probably come after ALttP, and ALttP could come after TWW, because that could be the country that Link and Zelda start at the end.

Vaati, eh? Didn't he have something to do with Twinrova? Whenever Ganon dies, Twinrova resurrects him.

It's stated in the earlier games and GBC games.

And didn't Ganon die 23426394726 times? ;P

Well, Twinrova did at least revive Gannon in the Oracle games. Yeah, Twinrova DID die, but Gannon has died three times already. I guess Gannon ressurected the Twinrova or something. I mean, he IS supposedly all-powerful.

Bah.
1. I don't like to emulate systems I have, unless it's for ROM hacks.
2. I recall hearing it doesn't work right when emulated, something about time being off.
