Yes, you read the thread title right. I've started working on a Mega Man 5 hack. The hack will only contain new levels, but as far as I know, no mm5 hacks have been released before. As you may know, I have some other hacks in progress too (look at my site), but I will continue on these later.

Now, before I continue working seriously, I'm wondering if someone would play it at all. When many people are interested, I'm working on things faster, including hacks. Therefore, I decided to show you some screens. There are only three today, but I will add more of them tomorrow.

Stoneman's stage. This area may look similar to the original one, but when you're playing, you'll find that it isn't.

Napalmman. Unlike the original stage, this level will start with the "facility" and end with the caves, just to keep the stage different.

Gravityman. Not much changed here yet.

As I said, I'll add more screens tomorrow. And I almost forgot to say that it will not be released yet. Please don't ask for a release date, as I don't know how long time it will take, but I hope I can release it before summer. At least...

You got some nice screens there. I see no problem with none of them.

If anything you should finish it to perhaps inspire others to follow thru or start their own hacks. I'm workin on a zombies ate my neighbours hack. It will be the first hack out there it seems. Perhaps it will be an inspiration to others to work on it.

Matrixz made a MM5 hack that was more of a time attack than anything else, but a hack sounds cool. Keep up the good work.

Isn't that hack by DXEdge a Megaman 5 hack? Anyways, I'm interested in any hacks that are for the Mega Man game series. It's not hacked much these days, even though it's one of the best series to appear on the NES.

Those are some nice screens I hope to see more pics soon, like Jigg said keep up the good work. And like Dan said, the Mega Man series is the one of the best for NES. We need more MM Hacks! *Googie opens Rock N Roll Editor...*

Thanks guys. I have the "Mega Man 5: Time attack" hack, and its only a time attack mode, but it's still worth a try. And DXEdge's "Mega Man 5 Vortex" is amazing and more unique than mine, but it's not released yet (I know there is an IPS-patch on zophar.net, but it doesn't change anything).

As I promised, I got some more screens for you:

Stone Man:

The beginning of the caves. These red guys can only be found in Crystal Man's stage in the original. I decided to put them here too, because I thought they fit in well.

Two ways. The G-letter can be found if you take the upper ladder. Notice that you need the Rush Jet adaptor to get to it; If you don't take the 8 stages "in the right order", you may have to enter this and some other stages later on to get the letters. (There will be enemies in this room, I just haven't added the right ones yet)

Gyro Man:

The very beginning of the level. Nothing special here, unless the new colour palette.

Napalm Man:

Tricky steps before the ladder.

What do you think you need to get that one? R.Jet, of course!

Here they are again. You'll find that they're annoying as soon as you get here.

There will be enemies here too. Don't let them push you onto the spikes...

That was all for today. I will post more later.
