| Well. This was my last try. I restarted my YI hack once, due to a corruption error. Now, I make my third level after getting my PC back from the shop, two and a half weeks work, and my dad wipes the PC clean of shit he doesen't want on it. So, guess what! My hacks gone. Again. Im done for while with YI hacking. At least until maybe Eggvine is stable to the point my hack wont screw up like the first time it did. And maybe also when It's capable of being easier to control (Graphics,Simpler Header Control,Maybe A Better Time Waster Than Badgers). Maybe I am too pampered from Lunar Magic, but all I can say is if it happened to you, you'd feel the same. Of course. This wont get any replies. And I don't expect it to. This is just a public service announcment about the statis of my hack. If I feel like starting it up again, It wont be for a while. I need time to recouperate from the time I wasted on the hack. I would love to keep hacking, but Mario World is kinda old, but I just cant think of any ideas for levels! Maybe this thread can count as a "Give me some damn ideas whydontcha!" thread. Pce Out. | If you want to rescue your hack from the deleted one, I'd rather you the program Recover My Files, it can rescue files after a formation. But if you don't want to hack YI a while, I can understand it because it happened to me with my 1st SMW hack, then I stopped hacking a while. BTW: I see youf gif. |

| ahh yes, I had the same thing happen to me. My dad went and formatted the hard drive, but saved my stuff. Unfortunately, he went through it and deleted everything related to rom hacking. Now I keep my files as hidden as possible | |||

| Same here. But he doesent care. He said he doesen't want anything on this computer related to hacking because hes afraid of law enforcement on such acts. Looks like I'll have to hack at my moms then. (Why the hell does that gif do that!? Does anyone know what the hell is going on???) |

| I can see your gif. (Firefox) ...Anyway... My parents aren't exactly computer experts. They basicly know how to start up the computer, work in it and surf the web and maybe send a few mails. However, they (especially dad) knows basicly nothing about how files and folders and such works. They don't care about me hacking (they probably belive that it's legal), and even if they were against it. they would probably not be able to find the files. |

| ...You guys actually tell them specifically what you are doing? I just generalize it and they seem happy. "Hey, Bob, what're you doing?" "Oh, I'm making my own Mario game. Right now I'm changing the overworld you can select the levels from." "Oh, alright." Done. Of course, there is also the fact that they don't know anything about computers, considering they bought Windows Me instead of 2000...bleargh. |

Thankfully, my parents know hardly anything about computers, outside of general use stuff such as typing in Word or going to a site on the internet. My brother and sister know some stuff, but if I want to get away with anything, I'm 99% sure they won't find out  My Dad's the one that bought the computer, and he says he doesn't want any bad stuff being done on it, so I guess emulation in general would count as well. However, if he happens to walk by and see me playing something in ZSNES or similar, he'll either not say something, or ask if I've gotten anywhere on my game Also, being the only one in the house that has an Admin account on this computer, I can threaten to change my brother or sister's password if I don't want them doing something, but thankfully I haven't had to do that yet. In all, it's good to be the only one who knows a lot about computers and such  |

My parents really don't care if I download them or not.. But do I download them? Nope, I truly don't.. I guess because I just don't care about them.. Although I have at least 15 at the most.. I don't plan to download more though because of that illegal stuff or whatever. Do I plan to ever get rid of the roms that I have? I can't say for sure, because there like drugs. People get addicted to them. By the way. Don't you have them on a cd or somthing.. Like, you can have them on a cd and use the floppy disc as the save states and the srm files.. As for the emulators and stuff. You could just have those on your computer.. |

She confronted me, and I gave her a long explaination of the irrelvancy on their legality and the moral basis and how it wasn't theft, and how the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled something to the effect of ROMs of games that are no longer in production or sales are legal. When I was almost done she just told me to stop talking and she'd drop it |

| Heh. Well I have heard many other excuses from other message boards on subjects like this. Nintindo really doesn't like the fact that there roms and stuff are on the internet at all. They feel that there loosing money because of all this. Excuses that I heard from other message boards were. "Were just trying to keep old roms alive and stuff, they seem dead now. And besides, people hardly buy them old things anyway, either that or they can't be found." But the people that put out roms out on the net should be the ones to get jumped on. Only its always the ones that download them though..  Oh well.. |

| Don't get me wrong. I was talking about them old roms like on nes and snes and stuff like that. As for GBA roms, yes they should be more worried about those being that there much newer than the older verions made on Super Nintindo. Lol. I thought someone would quote me on that one. Yes, I have heard quite a few say the same thing that you just said. "Most would rather play the real thing." Thats nothing new to my ears.Either way, people don't give a care if they download them or not. People don't even care if there legal or illegal. I don't blame them and didn't say that I did, because it isn't there fault that they download them. Its the people that put them on the net. Its there fault. My real point is.
