When I was young, I always had to buy a CD when I wanted to listen to new songs. Today, you can just download them free on the net. The CD stores sell less now than they did before, because of that. But I still wonder how many you own, no matter when you got them. If you want, you can tell if you bought more CDs before, or whatever.

Personally, I own 162 CD's. I've always loved music, and I still do. I've payed full-price for most of them, although some of them are bought on offers. I own about 10 singles, these didn't cost too much. Although I can download songs if I want today, I still buy CDs.

I clicked 150+ before I realised that it was CD's. I probably own somewhere between 50 and 100 CD's, I actually don't count them

I have WAY more albums (=vinyl) then I have cd's though

Let's see. I have about 700 CDs in the house. 100 cassettes. Over 1000 vinyls. Half of all those numbers are mine.

Plus, I had 3000 songs on my computer at one time

396 CDs currently. I have 5 more on the way. But that's only when counting a double album or a box set as one CD...

A lot of it's shit I don't have interest in, though. Like, once I went on a big metal spree...just buying CDs that were like $9 a piece, something I thought I might have interest in...but that's all been sitting on my desk, unlistened, since mid-summer. And there are other CDs I just don't listen to very often... I gotta lay back on buying CDs and download 'em first to see if I want 'em.

I don't have the money to buy new clothes, let alone CDs. I buy about 2-4 a year, so when I buy I buy carefully. 20-25.

@Abnormal Freak: Care to send some my way? I don't care, I listen to anything.

I have about 28 cds right now, at least those are the ones ive counted, i only listen to about half of those anymore though, like both APC, Silverstein, as i lay dying, and bleeding through are the ones im playing most.
oh yeah, and i have 4 more being sent, i think its avenged sevenfolds waking the fallen, and hopelessly devoted you you vol 3-5(all 3 for $3.00!)

I can't be bothered counting but I know I've got over 100 (almost all "real" copies), some of which I'll probably sell to the nearby used CD store when I get around to it. I go for quality rather than quantity.

Downloading is how I get most of my music, but I still buy the CDs when I can spare the money because I like to support the artists and because I have an irrational attachment to physically having the CD in my posession. CDs are probably going to become the next vinyls within ten years: a niche market for DJs and nostalgics.

about 140+ CDs...
Around 1999 or so, I used Napster alot and actually kept track of all the songs, but now I have a lot of CDs ranging from Music CDs, Several blank ones, and miscellaneous games and files. Last time I counted, there were roughly around 138 or so (not counting the ones lying around in a few boxes) and I bought 40 in the past week.

The rest of them are illegally downloaded.

1-5 ...

Not too big on music. I am, just not really a "hardcore fan" that'll buy stuff just to "have it", that's videogames for me.

Audioslave, Blindside, a few stuff ... somethings I don't even like these days.

Most of the music I like is all older rock / metal, and metal from other countries, so they're not exactly easy to find.

But yeah, not too big on buying CD's.

I buy stuff I like to listen to a lot, I'm also not a fan of pirated music, so consequently I own around 150~160 CDs which all get listened to regularly

I bet you won't. I've heard that one before.

By the way, I used to download quite a few songs before, illegally. But as time went by, I realized how it actually affects the CD-stores. I'm not doing it too much anylonger, with a few rare exceptions. Also, the music I'm listening to, is hard to find on the net.

Er, unless you never buy CDs then it doesn't affect anybody. Those of us who use filsharing as a sampling service (try before you buy) can sleep easy. I have over a thousand mp3s on my computer, but most of it is stuff I wouldn't have even known about without the internet. Filesharing has induced me to give more money to the music industry than I would have without it, and I know I'm definitely not alone in that regard.
