Ok!

I really feel like a noob now...

But, I got a problem with Legend of Zelda (NES). I've changed titlescreens several times, even that of Mario Kart, but I can't seem to see what the problem is with this one. When you view it with NESTICLE or FCEUXD (Tile viewer) it will just normally show the tiles. But when I open the ROM in Tile Molestor the titlescreen is completely messed up, like if it's compressed or something...

I think I'm overlooking something really obvious, can anyone give me some ideas on how to change the titlescreen.

You sure you are starting at the right number? Looking at the rom, looks like you need to shift up or down to get to your graphics...

try shifting right 4 bytes, and see what that does...

Yeah, Zelda 1 uses VRAM, which means the graphics are stored with the program data, as opposed to a separate VROM chip (this method is far more versatile than VROM, but much slower, since the CPU has to copy the graphics byte-by-byte to VRAM). Graphic data is often stored at odd locations in these games, so you'll need to shift things around a bit, as Leno said.

Ok!

I knew it would be such a small thing...

Thanks a lot, now I could finally get rid of those annoying colored words in the opening story.

Thanks for the additional info BMF54123 , now I finally understand why NESTICLE can't edit all games directly.
