Just wondering who here has a job and what you do. If you reply, talk about your job, don't spam and make your post just say "Yes I do." And for those of you who don't, talk about what kind of job you would like to have.

I have a job. I work at the call center for Valero Energy. Second largest oil company in America. We own Diamond Shamrock, Beacon, Ultramar, Total, and of course, Valero. I take calls and help people with their gas cards.

I work, also with phones.

I work in a Help Desk for the Department of Education and Children's Services. I do IT stuff, help people with their computers, etc.

I enjoy it, but I am not a permanent employee there yet.... I am applying (and freaking out about applying) at the moment.

I'm in the Air Force as most of you know, as an aircraft armament technitian specialist. That's a fancy way of saying "weapons tech". Basically, I install guns, missile launchers, bomb racks, chaffs, flares, missiles, bombs, rounds, etc etc... onto the aircraft. I was working F-15's for the past three years but now my squadron is on standby while we wait for the new F-22s.

I enjoy long walks on the beach......and WAR MONGERING OH MY GOD!

I work (nearly) full time in a games retail store. It's pretty cool, I get discount and I can borrow used games for a week. I really want to work my way up the ladder and run my own store someday, or be a rep for a publisher because all the reps that come see us really look like they enjoy themselves.

Is the company going bust or something?

I work Tesco. Evil. I redeem myself by doing as little as possible and "sampling" pick and mix.

If you like brainless and tedious work, try working in a supermarket. It's the ultimate in brainless tedium. The only relief I get is from inventing new ways to scare the shit out of random people I work with.

I work at an unknown restaurant in the town next to the one I live in. In it I learned how to do pretty much everything the restaurant business demands: I currently am the dishwasher, busboy, prep cook, line cook, courier, and probably accountant too, all on different days of the week.

I can't bring myself to quit. Today I'm on bus.

I used to work at a resturant caled Wolfgang Puck for four years until a few months ago, and now I'm an asst. GM at Gamestop. And it kicks arse. Took me long enough to get that job. I started out as a third key supervisior and then some shit hit the fan and then I took up the shit and, well, less than three months later, here I am. Of course, I wanted that job in the first place anyway....

I'm the Senior Scullery Technician at Teddy's in my hometown. I've been working there for two years straight. In that time, I've never been given 1 raise, 1 break, 1 promotion. Three people have been promoted ahead of me when I had higher seniority. While I sitll work with one of the lowest salaries, they are making 10/hour. I'm given SHITTY shifts and not allowed to request time off. I've called in sick 4 times, and each one of those times were serious as I work with food and freshly cleaned dishes. I came in from Toronto, cancelling a date with my ex-, to cover for a guy whose grandpa just died.

I'm qutting next week.

I don't know if it qualifies as a job per se, but I work at the front desk of my dorm, which basically consists of me watching movies on my laptop and every so often, giving a loaner key to someone that got locked out. Hooray for working the graveyard shifts. Pays minimum wage, but I don't do anything, so that's alright.

I consider my volunteering a job. It doesn't pay, but it's still the same thing pretty much

I work at the Heart and Stroke office Tuesday to Thursday, from 1 to 5 each day. Most of the time I do computer work, such as updating a database with names of people that have just come in. Some afternoons, I answer the phones as well, while others, there's another volunteer there that does that The last major thing I did was to use Prism (their database management system) to update the data on one of their events (it was last summer, so I can't remember. I'm pretty sure it was either the Mother Daughter Walk, or Big Bike for Stroke). I enjoy it there, although sometimes the workload might get a bit heavy, such as the thing I talked about above with Prism; I didn't finish the job 'till 1 or 2 days before the end of August. It had to be done by the first of September

So, in all, it's good there, and even though I don't get paid anything for it, I like working at that place
