Well, SyntaxLegend/Metroid has released his 1.8a Administration Panel, however with the new "release" of 1.92 is there an admin panel anywhere out there? It gets really tedious having to go into phpMyAdmin every time I want to edit a forum or anything. Or Syntax, if you're reading this, any chance of upgrading? |

No there isnt. I may work on one in the near feature though. Working on a codes section first though. I kinda started a admin panel. Doubt I will finish it soon. But I will finish it eventually.

If you can't figure out how to add stuff without an admin panel and rely on other people to do stuff for you, you should not run your own website period.

Since when did I say that I can't manage without an admin panel? I just say that it gets a little old after a while. As for making my own... I pretty much suck with PHP :/ |

Frankly, I've always liked the lack of an admin panel in Acmlmboards. I see it as an additional security thing though.... it's generally easier for somebody to gain access to an onboard admin panel than it is for them to gain editing access to your mySQL database. (through phpMyAdmin, for example).

Originally posted by TaraleNot necesary, the good thing about making your own admin panel is you can make it as secure as you want. Take a look at VBulletins, first of you need to be an admin (logged in) and when you want to enter the admin panel, you'll have to enter another password. Plus, an admin panel is great. PHPMyAdmin is quite the heavy program and quite slow at times you just want to change a little thing, a custom admin panel greatly speeds up work for you. |
