| Depends what system. In general, PAR is decent to crappy, Gameshark is crap, Game Genie is good but not very useful due to such a small codelist and lack of RAM patching ability, and I have no idea what the others are like. Also they're generally referred to as cheat devices. Hex editors are something else entirely. |
