But should it really start randomly using up to 80% of my CPU power when it's sitting in the background, not doing anything, with no files open? It just starts eating up CPU power and stops again. WTF is it doing? (It's CS, BTW.) (edited by HyperHacker on 12-23-04 11:11 AM) |

Hmm, that's rather annoying. There are also two of what seem to be bugs, that are REALLY frustrating. One, when using selection tools, the mode select buttons at the top (select, deselect, etc) frequently don't respond to being clicked, so I end up doing the wrong thing. Two, if I hold the left mouse button over pretty much any window at any time, eventually the windows turn white and stop redrawing, which makes it rather difficult to do anything. Are there any fixes or workarounds for either of these? [edit] About the redrawing thing, I'm not sure if you can just hold the button or if you have to actually drag it. But there's never a time I would be just holding it... (edited by HyperHacker on 12-24-04 11:09 PM) (edited by HyperHacker on 12-24-04 11:11 PM) |

That's good to know, but I don't see the relation between PS using up a lot of memory and random CPU usage spikes. (Plus shouldn't all that be cleared when I close the document? This happens even with no files open. ) | |||

I basically tested having photoshop along with a few other things, just sitting back there, I had Photoshop, Firefox(with like 6 tabs open), AIM, Yahoo, and a couple other things...and photoshop was using 0% cpu...so maybe its just your comp... |
