Well, since I am completely and utterly BORED, I have decided to do what probably 9 million others have already done: have a video game quiz. However, this is just mere trivial information that we are covering... all the questions I ask will be trivia, and will have, most of the time, one definitive answer. I'm not sure if this idea will take off to do anything, but hey, it's worth a shot, right? We will cover all genres, all time periods. Also, maybe a PC game question will appear here or there. Maybe this should be in General Gaming, but since it's trivia, I thought Brain Teasers would be more important. OK, first to 100 points wins, and I have plenty of questions to keep us going that long. So, here's the easy questions first (1 pt. each): 1. PONG was not the first video game ever. However, it has been credited as the first big one. Name its developer. 2. Name the first arcade title that Nintendo released, and the year it was released. 3. Name the best selling video game of all time. EDIT: Changed question 1. It was previously kinda hard for most people, I think. Although, the answer is the same to both questions. You got #2 correct, and believe it or not, SMB3 has managed to still be ahead of GTA: VC (unless it changed this last week ) As for #1, it was a single person who made it, not a whole company. A company published it, but didn't develop it. So...
CONTINUED QUESTIONS ---------------------------------------- 1. Name the developer of PONG (1 pt.) 4. Name the game that was awarded (probably unfairly) best graphics for the 2003 VG Awards. (1 pt.) 5. Name the first game starring Hal's famous character, Kirby. (1 pt.) |

16BT got #5, Uncle Elmo got #1. And I originally asked who developed Computer Space, so, you would have gotten that too.
CONTINUED QUESTIONS ---------------------------------------- 4. Name the game that was awarded (probably unfairly) best graphics for the 2003 VG Awards. (1 pt.) 6. Which company developed the highly acclaimed Gamecube title, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour? (1 pt.) 7. Who is the man often credited with creating most, if not all, of Doom? (1 pt.) |

Well, Utilityman, I'll give you credit: John Romero and John Carmack are the two names most often associated with Doom. And Uncle Elmo, yes, Camelot developed MG: TT, and Nintendo published it.
CONTINUED QUESTIONS -------------------------------------------- 4. Name the game that was awarded (probably unfairly) best graphics for the 2003 VG Awards. (1 pt.) HINT: It won this award probably due to its sexual explicitness more than its actual graphic quality. 8. What was the first game ever released by Capcom? (1 pt.) 9. Which of the Mega Man games features Nepalm Man as one of the main bosses? (1 pt.) We might be starting to move onto 2 pointers soon.... |

Uncle Elmo got #4 right (and I thought GTA: VC looked better, Elmo ), and 16BT got #8 right. And yes, Nick, Nepalm Man was in Mega Man 5. All 3 questions were cleared!

Well, I'm going to try MK2 for #12... I'm not sure whether or not the ESRB was around at the time to document #1. (edited by Utilityman on 03-27-04 01:19 AM) |
