For some reason, I can't connect to the iTunes store. iTunes has no problem accessing online radio stations, but it can't seem to handle much else. I know there's a certain port it uses, but that shouldn't be an issue: my girlfriend has sort of the same security setup (ZoneAlarm for a firewall, XP SP2) and no problems. We're both on dialup, too. I'm on MSN, though, and she's on SBC/Yahoo. Any idea what in the blue hell is going wrong? | |||

Does it just time out or does it give you any error messages? If you're on MSN, and they're really that evil, they might even block the ITMS (since they have their own store). Try this link: itms://www.aaronsw.com/2002/itmsTest. It goes to a sample page put together by someone else than Apple using the page description language they use. If that works and the other silently fails, MSN's blocking ITMS. In which case you should just go spam them. (edited by Jesper on 12-22-04 05:08 AM) |

I'm not planning on spamming 'em... I do get a good deal thanks to connections, and I'm not paying for it either... Anyway, it's a time out. There's an error message: iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again. Oh, and the test page didn't work either. Same message. EDIT: It works. All I had to do is turn off MSN's accelerator before I start iTunes. This thread will now be closed as it has outlived its purpose. (edited by drjayphd on 12-23-04 07:07 PM) |
