Really, not joking here, I'm not up enough on the news and stuff, so I want to ask everyone why they dislike George W. Bush so much. I want to hear real reasons, I currently stand on no side but my parents are with him, but I myself want to know why almost everyone hates him! Also, anyone who doesn't hate him and the few that might actually support him, feel free to post here too saying you do and stuff. I hope this thread doesn't break any rules, I'm making it before I go to bed so I can see it the next day so I might of made something wrong. That is all.

1. War monger
2. Bad leader
3. Bad morals
4. Irritating
5. "unilateral"

I could go on forever, but I'd start sounding like Micheal Moore.

OK guys, no Bush debates here... basic pro/con thing. Don't get sidetracked.

I never liked Bush ever since he was elected - of course, I wasn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of President Gore either, but meh. He *was* handed a bad card with 9/11, I'll admit that much - and he did about as well as he could have following that. But then you had the Iraq thing, the emphasis on terrorism above all other American issues (to a casual observer), his attitude towards countries that didn't support him, the deterioration of Canadian relations... It's a bunch of things, not one huge thing that makes me dislike Bush.

Really, I hate him because he did a load of stupid things. Not only has he made it so nurses and some other jobs can't do overtime, my moms a nurse so she got screwed there. He has also decided to go to war with Iraq, when there were other methods and other ways. He didn't catch Osama, you know... the guy responsible for 9/11, but he caught Saddam. He just isn't very intelligent over all, most of the things he does he does wrong, or doesn't do the things that need to be done.

I don't agree with everything thet he does and says, but, yes, I'm actually the one person here that still supports him and glad that he won the past election. Maybe the constan bashing has something to do with why I support him, but that isn't the total reason why I do. Yes, I am happy that we went to war (and yes, I know people out in Iraq and I know people who are training now who just joined the military) and it seems that whenever there is a war, there're always be protestors, its just that this time around, it s a bit more. But anyway, I don't agree with him on abortions, or to ban gay marriages, but who said that someone who supports a president, has to agree with him 100%? At any rate, I suck at debats, so I'm heading out of this thread before I get run over.

Hey I like him more than Kerry or Nader. At least I know what he stands for. Nader I know is anti-labor, and that pisses me off. Sometimes you have to say sucks to the environment and provide a working man with a home and roof.

Kerry I know nothing about except he is the exact same thing as Bush, except more eloquent. Which is scary, because Bush isn't a drivilling and drooling moron. He may not be the brightest bulb in the presidential box, but he isn't to be grouped down there with Reagen and Hoover. Kerry on the other hand is a war monger the same as Bush, but is brilliant. That really frightens me.

Repeated reference to "Christian values" really irritate me. Basically, by saying this, he's implying that those of us who aren't Christian don't have morals. Beyond that, just add Ziff's first post to mine.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot Ziff made two posts.

When Bush was first elected, I didn't know much about him, but I heard a lot of people saying he was stupid. I didn't really pay any attention.

However, with 9/11 bringing things into focus, Bush has gotten my attention more.

Since then, it's been a bunch of little things that have annoyed me, most of which Colleen, Ziffski and Cheveyo Chowilawu have already mentioned. Oh, and the "Christian Values" thing annoys me too -- our Prime Minister tries that one too, and it pisses me off as well.

It's simple, really, and this is the reason why I dislike Republicans in general -- they think they're right, and so they have to go around the push their values and beliefs and everyone else.

Don't like gay people? Pass legislation not recognizing gay marriage. Don't like stem cell research or contraceptives? Cut funding for related organizations. Don't like abortion? Pass laws declaring abortion to be murder. Christian Republicans should be damn well content with the fact that all the gay black men who have abortions are going to hell for all eternity. Not to mention that God himself wrote through the divinely inspired Gospel that it's a complete waste of time to judge people on Earth.

i've never liked bush since he has pretty much neglected domestic issues for the most part. He has spent most of his time handling foreign affairs, which I am tired off. The President should take care of his/her own people first before focusing on the world at large. Anyways, if the economy picks up, I guess I'll cut G.W. a little more slack..

In general I don't like Bush or his administration for a number of reasons, most of which have already been stated here. But more and more I am tired and irritated with those who dislike president Bush. The only criticism I hear of people who claim they "hate" him is that he is stupid. I don't understand this at all. The president doesn't have to be smart. That's what the Cabinet is for. People need to grow up and actually start understanding politics b/c they're the ones that look stupid when they level such criticisms at the president.

I was talking with a friend of mine today about Mitch Daniels, the new republican governor of my state, and all he could say about the guy was that he was stupid. At least with Bush you know the guy's stupid, but I think saying stuff like that is a cop out.

All I have to say that I am a conservitive (and future member of the Republican party), and while I don't necessarily like a lot of Bush policies, I still support him.

Bush isn't an idiot. Everyday we mess up on our speech. I used to have a lisp, so sometimes I pronounce my s's like ths. I mean, we all say the wrong word sometimes, and sometimes we do forget. Is that our fault? Not necessarily. So he's a bit forgetful. We're all forgetful. So what if the President is forgetful? He's only human. He isn't a superman or anything like that. He graduated from Yale (oh wait, now people will say his Father got him in...yeah...).

I bet ya that if somehow Calvin Coolidge rose from the dead and was reelected, we would all think he's horribly stupid just on the fact that he can't say more then two words usually.

Anyways a lot of people are forgetting one thing - the president doesn't have a lot of power. All he can do is declare war (but Congress has to have consent), pass and veto bills. The real power is in Congress - declare war, make laws, and override the presidential veto, AS WELL AS impeaching the president. All the president is is a figurehead, with a few powers to make things make sense.

Also, a lot of presidents during war time were called warmongerers. You have the First Continental Army, Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and whoever participated in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

I'm surprised I never hear Clinton bieng called a warmonger for putting troops in Kosovo and Bosnia (even though Bosnia might be Bush Sr., I forget exactly). (I fear that saying this, some people are going to put words in my mouth and say this is a slam of the Democratic party, but I assure you it isn't. I am truley surprised.)

If we take the public opinion, we really don't have any good presidents, except for George Washington...whose principles was thrown away by the father of the Democratic-Republican party, Thomas Jefferson.

All I'm saying is that Bush isn't perfect, but you have to give him some credit at least. The American Presidency is a hard job, mainly because you get blamed for every little thing that goes wrong. Not only that, but it's quite stressful, and you'll wake up looking thirty years older at the end of 4 years.

Hey, Math, how many posts here did you read? The only person who used the word "stupid" relating to Bush at all was Dracoon, and he was referring to things Bush did, not Bush as a person. Ziff said he isn't a moron, and most of us have left the subject of his intelligence alone. Unless I missed someone's posts in here.

And where exactly did he reference people here saying that he was stupid? I believe he was referring to people in general. I did some research and this may come as a shocker but there are in fact other people out there who aren't registered at this board. More details as they come in...

I merely assumed, based on some reasonable (to me) logic, that since he was replying to this thread - seemingly in an attempt to defend Bush - that he was referring to people who posted in this thread. I figured that if he wasn't replying to anything people here had said, he wouldn't have seen any reason to post that.
