Woke up. I was planning on visiting my dad in prison today. Took off, looking forward to seeing him. 10 minutes out side of town, had to pee. Nowhere to stop, and its Texas, so there are no trees or bushes. I decide I can hold it until I find a place. Keep driving, my car starts acting weird. Hitting the gas only makes me go the same speed, no acceleration. So I stop. Smoke everywhere. I had oil, tansmission fluid, but I hadnt checked the radiator. Put some water in. Looked good. Then couldnt get the car to go any faster than 10 mph. Decided to turn around. Took about 2 hours to get back home. Couldn't actually stop the car because it would die then I would have to wait 15 minutes before starting it again. So I drove through town slow and going through lights and stop signs. I had to pee the whole time. Good first half of the day.

Ouch. I'm reallly sorry to hear that sort of stuff happened to you You're certainly lucky you didn't get pulled over by the police when you went through stop signs and red lights As long as you're home safe though, that's good. I don't know why you had to go up to the prison to visit your Dad, but hopefully he'll be understanding if you tell him what happened.

At least it wasn't rainy or really cold out, or so I gathered from what you posted.

Do you plan on getting your car checked out? I'd hope so, because the things that happened could be a sign of worse stuff to come

snipy_chipy, this forum is a place for serious topics, questions, or just sharing and getting something off your chest. (Now obviously if he made a new thread everyday in here then he'd need one, but he doesn't).

That really sucks Did you know your car was acting evil before you drove it?

I would start laughing at you for your bad luck... so I will.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ok done, anyways, what you need to do is go get your car checked. Stuff happens that you have to deal with, and I think I might have just walked home and called to get my car towed...

Sounds like either the transmission or the alternator and I think its the latter.

Car prblems suck...especially $384 car problem. Hope you can get it fixed or have another way to get around to where you need to go.

Just don't take your car to PepBoys. They'll fuck it up even more.

Well... we've had the alternator go out before and that's what charges your battery while you're driving. I never noticed it cause any problems like the one Kario described, but then again, we got it fixed before it probably had any chance to.

Also had transmissions go out twice but I can't recall what happened specifically. But those are expensive to replace/fix.

AAA is the best service ever. You should look into it, if you don't already have it. They could have towed your car to your choice of auto shop, instead of you having to drive it home in such a condition.

That would be correct IF he wasnt able to start his car back up after it stalled. However he apparently could, so I doubt it's that.

Could be anything from a bad sensor to a blown head gasket or dead transmission.

But Kario... this should teach you a lesson: Always go to the bathroom before beginning a trip.

Oh yeah, I learned that lesson for sure. Now the only problem with my car is violent shaking. Don't know why, and no one else does.

My car likes to shake. But I know why; lose motor mounts. And actually, when I got the raditor leak fixed, the shaking wasn't that bad thereafter....but it still shakes.

Yeah, lose motor mounts is kinda what I am thinking it is. How dangerous is it to drive with them like that.

I've been driving like that for a few years now. But then again, I don't drive that far (like to work and back) and maybe sometimes to the store.

Kario, that happened to me about a week ago.. I was driving too. Im not good at driving yet.
So I had to pull over and have my mom yell at me. She thinks I killed the car or something.

Might be the radiator or the water pump or the fan isn't coming on to cool it down, or a coolant leak. Did you check the coolant level?
