It occurs to me that when someone wants to change Link in their LttP hacks, usually to "update" his appearance, they don't put a lot of effort into it. Well, feast your eyes on this: Both of these images are not a mock-up: That is indeed a Four Swords Adventures-style Link currently hacked in with brand new palettes to complement. This is still a work in progress, though... Link has a lot of frames to go yet, and I currently have no way to rip graphics from the GBA portion of FSA. (What's there is compiled from other sprites out there, which I have no clue as to how they were acquired.) You may also notice Link's face is a little yellow in Slot number 1 up there. That's caused by the palette swap used to change his hand color depending on what level glove he's wearing. Right now, I can't seem to locate that palette in Hyrule Magic in order to change it. Help would be appreciated. If you have any info or can rip graphics and/or the red and blue tunic colors from FSA directly, that would also be great. |

One screen allready shows the blue tunic but that might just be put together by him. The graphics you found most likely wern't from the Gamecube game Four Swords Adventures, however they have different walking animations as well as probably other changes in even simple frames, the ones from the LttP+FS and Minish Cap have a "girly" walk and the ones from the GCN game and it's GBA segment have a more LttP style walk. I can tell you if the sprites were from FS or FSA just by that. I can also show you where to get all four colours of the Tunic from LttP+FS's FS, I cannot however get the graphics out from the Gamecube version, though I can discuss what would be needed to possibly get them from the GBA segments of that game, but you probably don't want to spend money just to get something like that. I just wish someone cared enough to make a set of programs for graphics and files and stuff for the FSA GCM file, I am this close to possibly getting the GBA Link's graphics out of the game.... anyway, I'm rambling, what you have done is nothing short of awesome the way you got them in with all the effort and stuff! | |||

I actually tried to have that concept of a Four Swords Link in this game. I had a few sprite tiles inserted then quit short after because there were too much frames. Good to know you want to give a shot at it. And to help you in your convertion, here's the GBA Four Swords full Link sprite sheet (Ripped long ago by someone on the ZFG forums)... |

Thanks, I've already got that sheet. Someguy: I purposefully chose to use Four Swords Adventures sprites because they conform to the LttP format better than FS does. (check out the head... the FS version is actually wider, while the FSA version fits perfectly into LttP's idle stances.) What you see right now is sort of a mix between sets, using FSA sprites wherever possible and modified FS sprites to tie it together. Oh yes, and the palettes are also subtly different. The FSA palettes actually seem to work perfectly in SNES format, Hyrule Magic doesn't have to round the RGB numbers at all. (based on what I got from the FSA rips I found.) |
