| It'd be hypocritical if the author spent all of his time online, but who cares if he's a hypocrite? The point of view he presents is interesting, and it applies to quite a few people I know. However, I'd prefer rotting online to rotting on TV. I'm fairly sure the amount of mental stimulation, in most cases at least, would be higher. As stated by the author, it has useful purposes though. I don't spend much time surfing, but I have usually have AIM logged in when I'm in my room, even if I'm reading a book or studying. It's useful when you don't understand something or you need to ask a friend a question. It seems to make planning a lot easier for me too and I prefer IMs to phone conversations in most cases because I'm soft spoken and I don't speak much, but I do type quite a bit  I guess in a sense it is shit, but what is made by humans that isn't in one aspect or another? Human made and thus human qualities. I like it despite it having bad tendencies. Not my fault if half the population is too stupid to double or triple check research with encyclopedias and libraries, no? |

It should be "Internet is the shit".  No honestly, he was right but at the same time... I must probably be seeing the most wonderful things with the internet too. If you can filter out the shit, Internet is wonderful. And yes there is alot of shit out there. But you will do well if you doublecheck the sources. Unless your one of thoose who belive in everything. |

Plus Google announced last week that they're going to add 15,000,000 books or some insane number like that to the system, free of charge.  *shrug* The argument was well-written, but personally I don't agree with it. Technology's developing and the world adapts - live with it. |

| A better title for the site would be "I'm disillusioned with the internet." Man some people just need to deal with the fact that the internet is over commercializing, but there are also forces working to counterbalance that. Google along with a good portion of the internet is a wonderful thing, and if you're disatisfied with it you should go to your library. End of story. Dirty old books usualy suck imo. | |||
