I need to try my hand at NES game genie code making sometime. I'm doing heck a lot SNES codes right now.

Hey, those Whip codes for Festers quest reminds me of Simons quest instead. I never played festers quest so I'm suprised to hear he uses a whip.

just tried it on Nestopia and it works fine!!

The rom, btw, does have 2 versions as far as I can tell (meaning, if there are more, I have never found them)... the general population uses v1 most often as far as I can tell

Hey! the fester codes had a neat serendipidous side effect.
by using the 'have-all-iteams','infinite-health', 'light-always-on-in-sewer', and 'rapid-fire' codes i think it accidentally triggered a warp to the last level. I think, i never played the game for very long until today. maybe the game is that short
but whenever i accessed a sewer or left a sewer I got transported to the mother ship.

Here are some codes I made for Megaman games,
Direct access to castles :
MM2 AESAPEST
MM4 AEVATEOI
MM5 AEVAYOXI
MM6 AEEYYOKZ
Interesting for challenge play (but would require some other codes at least for the tools that have a must-use in some levels)

Just thought that I'd mention that if you want the charged shots to do the same damage as the actual charged mega buster enter LOOEKGPP in addtion to the always fire super charged shots code.

Oooohhh...a few things just clicked inside my musty brain, and now I've gone and made my first Game Genie code! (woohoo...yeah, I know, I'm a sad chicken )

Game: Moon Crystal (I'm using the english translation, it's a great game!)

GANAAPLA - Start with 4 hearts (it shows 3 though, I'm working on that part now)
You can change the value of it to go higher, to take more hits, but don't go too high!

XTEXYUVK - Infinite Life

VVNXASSV - Infinite Lives

Cool thread

One SMB3 code I remember from an old GameFAQs thread:

AOSUZSSI

allows you to throw the background in the form of ice blocks. You can remove the solid objects, too, like DD's fireball code he listed at the top of the thread.

The original code posted in the GameFAQs thread was AOSUZI, but it caused lock-up glitches in certain levels...I added the compare value to make it the current AOSUZSSI, which seems to totally eliminate the problem.

...Oh, and try this on Bowser

I'm suprised that such an awsome thread like this is not stickied. I would like to make a request. It's for The Simpsons Bart vs. The Space Mutants. Can you please make a code for me for infinite lives?

That's it, I'm sick and tired of looking, and I bet Lenophis is too

I would like to know where the bytes are that affect how many uses of Crash and Mike you are permitted in Kirbys Adventure.

It's NOT in RAM like one might logically think, because um, well, I've done a pretty good sweep through there. It's in ROM... and considering the normal byte would be somewhere around 00-02.... doing corrupting (yea, I'm too stupid for disassembling and such) really doesnt get ya anywhere.

So can you guys please find the bytes (I wouldnt care about the GG codes) for changing uses of Crash/Mike?

Interesting little side note regarding that...

I stumbled across a trick to getting infinite mics in Kirby's Adventure that I haven't seen posted anywhere else (so keep in on the downlow, everyone! Heheh).

In Vs. Boss mode, fight Whispy Woods, then fight Paint Roller until exactly half of her energy bar is depleted. Then wait for her to paint a microphone. This is easy because she is still in "wait" mode, so she won't chase you around immediately after painting a picture, leaving you plenty of time to get away from her if she paints anything other than a mic.

When she paints the mic, swallow it and use it twice. Get to the middle of the room to the approximate location of where the star wand will appear and use the third mic. You will instantly get the star wand and move on to the next boss... and have unlimited mics.

The only downside to this trick is that you can only use it on the next three bosses -- after that it's Meta Knight, and you have to get the sword ability. But it's fun while it lasts -- especially if you can make it up to the top of Kracko's stage without losing your power. That takes a bit of skill, but -- hey, I'm a master, right?

Anyway, maybe this doesn't belong here, but when the hell else is someone going to bring up the mic ability in Kirby's Adventure, right? And who knows, maybe that will somehow tie-in to figuring out the data, eh? Heh, yeah, that's why I posted here...

I applaud your effort nonetheless. Unfortunately, that is a commonly known glitch among those who play the game a lot, and I'm pretty sure it has been posted elsewhere on the net. But thank you for bringing it up, for those who didn't know about it and as an effort to lead me in the right direction.

Sorry for the long delay in responding, I've been busy with other things.

tbolt; DD already made a code to let the shadow blade go across the screen. You can find it on page 2 of this thread. Anyway, below are the codes for MY shadow blade modification.

alitnill; I can almost gaurantee that the "light always on in sewer" caused that. I should have tested it more.

Powerbub; Thanks for mentioning that. I did not notice this about my code but that Galoob code is exactly what is needed to make the charged bullets as powerful as the normal ones.

Chickenlump: you will find your code along with two others below to correct that

Mega-Dog: I was able to make the subroutine jump somewhere else to give you an energy tank instead, but I wasn't able to have it give you any other items.

Here are the codes:

Battletoads
EYOAVLEI: invincibility (unfortunately, you can't enter the bike in level 3 with this code)

Gimmick!
ENEAVGEI: Invincibility
KOXAPOKX: High Jumps
EEXAPOKZ: Super High Jumps
ZENYYTGA: 1/2 Gravity
PENYYTGA: 1/4 Gravity
AVSETLAL: Stars Bounce Higher
YNSETLAU: Stars Bounce Much Higher
ESSETLAL: Throw stars into air
EESETLAL: Throw Stars High into air

Megaman 3
LAKIYLPA: Fire 3 shadow blades
LESSLXLA: Allows you to fire the shadow blade in any direction (including down)

Metroid
SXSGNVSE: infinite energy
AEEININP + KSESESSS: defeating kraid or ridley gives you an extra energy tank instead of 75 missles

Moon Crystal
GANAAPLA + GAVEZPLA + GANLXILA: Start with 4 hearts (Note: Credit goes in part to chickenlump for this)

SMB3
NNVTIGAO: when timer hits 100, music plays much faster

The Simpsons, Bart Vs. The Space Mutants
PAXELTLE: Start with 9 lives (test this before posting)
OZVYITOO: infinite lives

Solomon's Key
OZSOEUPX: Infinite Fireballs

As always, Keep the requests coming!

Metroid:
IAYNLI + XTANYV + XTPYAV: One Hit Kills Enemies

If you have the ice beam, it will take two hits to kill enemies. The first hit freezes them. I've tested the code in Kraid's Hideout and Norfair, and also against Kraid. I believe Kraid actually died after three hits, but probably because the bullets were hitting his projectiles rather than him. Should work against Ridley, Metroids, and Mother Brain, as well.
