Due to this post, I have been banned from the internet. This makes me sad.

That and evidently this is what happens when you post with a wierd timezone, or something

There is a topic on Slashdot at the moment that's made me giggle.

Courts have been known to ban people from the internet. The first person to be banned was a guy named Chris Lamprecht, who was banned in 1995.

Of course, the 'internet' now includes a lot of things (with voice over IP, some phone calls use the Internet) even... Frankly, I don't think it's really enforceable anyways...

But I want to know, if you were banned from the Internet... what would you go instead with your time?

I'd uh.... draw more and maybe procrastinate less... omg.

EDIT: What the fuck happened to the thread? Xkeeper, behave yourself, or I'll ban you from the Internet!

Seems like he replied to the thread before it existed.

Or he could have posted to at thread with the same ID that got incorrectly deleted later on...

And yes, peopel have even been banned from computers too I heard. It's enforcable thought, and would be probably a cruel punishment for a few persons.

I would just ROM hack more and probably starts drawing, I would program more too but... well. Kinda hard when you all you get is books from the libary.

Anyone is capable of finding things to do other than go on the internet. Yes, even Kitten Yiffer. In fact we should try enforcing this upon certain parties in order that they might become less creepy. I feel very strongly about this.

=D

EDIT: I wrote this, in this form, before Kitten Yiffer was replying. I'm just psychic I guess.

Hey, most of us did JUST fine without the Internet. Then we all got hooked.

I'd probably play more video games to be honest.

I think back a couple months ago when we didn't have the internet, and I realize I did just fine. Played Gamecube and computer games, went volunteering, and those were the two things I did most, if not all of the time. Before school started again, I regularly went up to the college to go on the internet, even though almost all the courses were done for the summer.

A month or so before that, our old computer stopped working, and I had to wait a week before we got a new one. I got by through playing various games on Gamecube and XBOX. My friend stayed the whole week at our house, so that may have helped as well.

Now that we do have it, I can't even remember how I survived without it at home I hate to think about what it would be like if we were to lose it now

It's just occurred to me that without the Internet, I'd probably do a bunch of the things I keep bitching I don't have time to do....

Like read, draw, paint, learn things, finish video games.

Oh yeah, I actually lost my internet connection for a month.

...however my old Dial-up hadn't expired yet, so we used that one for awhile. XD

...but damn, I hate pay-per-minute dial-up. We got a quite high bill when I surfed 1/4 of what I usually do... -.-

I did less internet related things IIRC, hell most of the internet activity was done in school. XD

That way I can finally play WC3FZ and CS. ... But yeah. Go study about philosophy if all else fails... Atleast that stuff can get you somewhere you need to be going....
