I NEVER use my e-mail, so I wouldn't ever use 1 TB.

BTW, that's impossible. Only very good servers have 1 TB of storage, and you can't give that much space to 500 people.

1TB? Wtf? I've got a 120 GB HD and I'll never fill it, even though I'm never throwing anything away.

Is it just me or is there something very fishy about this. I just wish I could figure out what. Why are hardcore "hellacious" bikers concerned about having environmentally friendly computer systems?

I'm not reading any fine print. However, I'm willing to bet that the 1TB is shared among all the users.

Well with this you certainly wouldn't have to worry about space issues ...

But I'm sure multiple gmail accounts work, just as well.

I signed up, and tried sending an email from my hotmail account to my account there. Nothing. Tried sending it the other way around. Nothing yet Also, after I clicked 'Send Message' on that site, it added 'hriders.com' or something to the end of the message

The speed of it and the fact that they advertise their site in any message you send doesn't make it look very good.

You do? I can't say I've gotten any yet, and I've had my account there for a couple years

Which is really easy to make sure no one finds out that they don't have a 1 TB server .

Quite true

Another thing that just came to mind is that they say you can send 500Mb attachments. That's fine and all, if their system worked for one, but also, what other sort of email service does anyone know of that can recieve 500Mb emails? Unless you're sending them to yourself, there's no point in that that I know of

Most POP3 servers have limitations on the size of attachments you can send - and of course receive. Don't try sending a 30MB file to a friend with most services.

Haven't tried Gmail's POP3 support yet.

I think the free Hotmail upgrade is being rolled out somewhat slowly and randomly. I got a notice about the upgrade in late summer or early fall. My brother's account was upgraded a month or two ago, IIRC, while mine wasn't upgraded until a few weeks after that, and I've had mine since 1997 or 1998.

Like every free email service in existance.

You do? I can't say I've gotten any yet, and I've had my account there for a couple years

I would get it constantly. Plus spam and viruses (though I wasn't stupid enough to open them) from others since their spam filters simply did not work. (I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the 'filter' just checks if the person sending the message has sent them any money. ) Also, being Microsoft... Do I really have to say it? Remember that bug where people could put Javascript in an email's title, forcing it to execute as soon as you logged in? Simply unacceptable.

Plus they've always sucked at size. While Yahoo was offering 6MB and even some obscure service in Sri Lanka had 4, they were at a measly 2. Now that Gmail and all these others are offering 1000, Hotmail's gone up to an 'amazing' 250. (Though that does beat Yahoo's 100. Yahoo started sucking when they did that and made the genius decision that all of their users are IE users. That's when I got Gmail. Even so, if you can get Yahoo's interface to work I highly suggest it over Hotmail, simply for the security and quality. Make a few accounts if you need space.)
