Good luck with it. I think Zelda 3 is one of the hardest games to hack.

How about Zelda: The Missing Link

You could search for a monkey. Yes.

Shots: One of them is the same except you took guards out and put in that boss thing. The other is the same except for the text. How long did this take you? Hopefully 10 minutes, or less.

What makes you think that what he has shown in two pics is the extent of the hack?

Well, you show pics of what you have done. He didnt say he did anything else. So, I have the pictures to work with. I was only commenting on the pics he showed, not his entire hack.

No offence intended, but you should really wait till you have put some work into it before you start showing it off.

As mathonnapkins, this might not be all you have done, but, it certanly doesnt show a lot. You need to put more work into it. Dark Prophecy has taken forever to do, but it shows when i post screenshots.

Good Luck.

So you're trying again...
Cuz I believe this is your second attempt at making a Z3 hack.. (Who can forget the two isles idea).. Well I don't wanna be harsh or anything, but like others stated, you should really work more then just that before showing anything.. I mean anyone could do that. You should really focus on paper work/brainstorming a little more before even starting to work with the hack itself. The basic being put all your ideas together and start with that. Zelda 3 is no easy game to hack.. Like, take SMW for exemple.. Can't count them (too much of them).. Now take this game.. how many 'COMPLETE' hacks do you see? I'll tell ya: 'Zero' '0' 'None' 'Nada'... People have yet to release a completely changed hack.. So I'd say it's too much work by itself.. especially if it's your first hack.

Yes, all of these people mentioned it: Only two shots, and the areas are identical with the ones in the original game. A hack with only a new story and enemy replacements isn't fun to play at all (in my opinion). But I'm sure you can do better than that, if you haven't done it already. I don't want to be mean or anything, but I'm just telling you the thruth: Nobody will play this as it is now. Do some actual progress and changed, and post more screens.

And yes, Zelda 3 is a hard game to hack. It's big, and there are many events which are difficult to make right. I played a little with Hyrule Magic myself too, but I found the game way to big.

I tried doing some stuff in Hyrule Magic a while ago when I got frustrated with Lunar Magic (funny that they both end in the word "Magic" ).

I moved a couple bushes around outside Link's house, and moved the pillars in the first room of Hyrule Castle Other than that, I messed around with the item in the chest at the beginning of the game

You've done more already than I would've, but like the others said, two screens really isn't enough to go off of. It should be "Apparently" instead of "Appearently" in the first shot, and in the second one, although it's neat that you put that boss there, what is it there for? I can't remember, but I don't think you'd have your sword yet (unless you've changed that), so all you can really do is avoid it

There aren't many Zelda 3 hacks around that I know of, and although you haven't drastically changed anything yet, this hack could be interesting.

Post some more screens if you can

How about "The Legend of Zelda: I Honestly Expect You to Name this Quest Based on two Screenshots of Nothing Interesting and Zero Storyline Information"? You could call it IHEYtNtQBotSoNIaZSI for short.

Seriously man, do some actual work on this and then name the quest based on that.

well, I will release a little secret for the beginning cause I can't fix a tiny graphics glitch at the moment...
What happens is Link is visiting his uncle, and zelda is also there to visit the castle there. The castle is attacked by (you guessed it) Agahnim. then zelda sends a telepathic plea for help, which your uncle scences as well, to save her, before you are completly awake, your uncle takes your sword and shield and puts in a mirror. Then he tells you he thought he heard a sound outside and will back quick. you jump out of bed and go to grab your sword and shield which you brought with you in a chest and find out your uncle took them and there is only a silly mirror in there... you try to go to the castle but find that the bridge is closed off... you look at the mirror and, suddenly, you get sucked in! (this is the part where there is glitchy enemy graphics) All of a sudden your in a strange world and your a rabbit you start too run towards a pyramid but suddenly there is two monsters that throw bombs at you! you look back at the mirror and your brought back to your world! but now your on the bridge. you listen to Zelda's telepathic message and you start your quest!

I was guessing Mickey Mouse.

I had an idea for a name. A serious one this time.

Your hack is looking good but, why is that monster there in the castle? And why do you have the mirror at the start of the game? Instead of the Boomerang?

And some names for your Zelda3 hack:

The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To Another Dimension
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Of The Past
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Future
The Legend Of Zelda: Links Back
The Legend Of Zelda: The Time Traveler
The Legend Of Zelda: The Search For Gold

Dude, don't use tags in the post to change the colour of your post's text. I had to highlight the area to even know if there was text at all.

Actually two screens are far then enough to show how's the hack gonna be.

(That is if they are eye-candy.. ~ In this case I gotta agree the screens don't show much, but for well prepared hacks, 2 screens are more then enough to both catch people's attention and for not spoiling the game too much).

> Now as for the name itself, I suggest you focus on that at a later time.. It takes too much time to find a name that would fit your hack. Instead start the hacking process and I'm sure you'll find a name as you go along.

Well, all you suggestions are great! and your right Uchiha, it is eye candy.

P.S.: The screenies will most likely not be the same. The castle is already different
scince if you beat the moldrum it will make Zelda dissapear... heh heh.
I have placed him in the last room before the Church.
