Simple enough... what is your christmas tree (or lack thereof)

I have an artificial. You dont have to water it, and the (annoyingly fresh) pine scent isnt there.

Plus it lasts you year after year

The one we've got stuffed in the closet is in somewhat easy-to-assemble pieces, so it's artificial, obviously

We had a real tree a couple years back, but that was when some organization was giving them away for free

Screw trees, a Hanuka(sp?) bush, Fesitivis pole or a Quanza whatever is good enough for me.

There is nothing else like a real tree. I'm sorry. When I go to my grandparent's house I am sort of fond of their artificial tree, but mainly because of the decorations they put on it and other stuff they put around it. The lighting, the ornaments, the bib around the base all accent it quite well.

But, as far as I'm concerned the only negative to a real tree is potentially all the needles that get everywhere. But that only happens if you keep your tree too long, it's a sickly tree, or you forget to water it. In the past I think we've replanted a couple of our Christmas trees, but one died.

Too much hassle with having a real tree.

We have a very nice, GREEN artificial one. None of that pink/white crap. Not up yet though.

Fake tree. The thing pays for itself, no hassle, no need to water, no mess, and we can act like we care about the environment.

Someone already mentioned the festivus pole.

I've always been round an artificial tree. First a six-and-a-half foot tree that over the year shrunk as if by magic to a five-foot tree, and now a seven-foot tree.

No tree at all.... just cause I can't find one the right size, and.. there's no point really when it's just me here either.

One of the fondest memories of my childhood was waking up on Christmas morning to a living room smelling like pine and lit only by the tree lights.

I have to go with real. I don't mind the mess. It's worth it.

The mess can be easily fixed with a good vacuum cleaner.. no problem..

So, yeah, I'm going with real. For now, anyway.

We always had a real one - and we won't even think to get an artificial one. that amount of work to carry it to home, putting it into and watering the rack, is once a year and a couple of minutes only. And if you know the right place, you won't pay too much for a good tree

We've always gotten a real tree...I'll probably get a fake tree when I move out though, because:
- A lot of apartments don't allow real trees.
- I can use the same tree every year.
- I don't need to worry about keeping it alive through the Christmas season.
- I can't drive, and a disassembled fake tree in a box is easier to carry on public transportation than a real live tree.

We are using artificial trees only, because they don't smell like the real trees and you can use them forever until they get ruined, otherwise it would be cooler with those real trees to get the right christmas feeling, but they are too expensive.

Screw the expenses, it's Christmas. Without the proper Christmas spirit, how do you expect to be a pawn of society?

I used to love the Real Trees when I was a kid. Had a nice smell, and there was a freaking TREE just chilling in your living room decked up for the holiday. After I grew older we began to use a fake tree, which didn't look to bad.

After thinking about it I would have to say screw getting real trees. God only knows how many people cut trees down just to stick them in a put for a month and throw them away. What a waste.
