Well, I personally don't know WHAT to use on this PC. Outlook Express is pretty good, but tends to crash. So I took a look at the crud for me to compair. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Outlook Express/b] An actually not bad Microsoft Product. Had some problems with AIM in SP1, especially when Outlook Express was set as defult, but it was all fixed in SP2. It has a pretty fast Startup. It's theme isn't very attractive... It's ONLY disadvantege that concerns me is it's lack of customizing, and it tends to freeze sometimes. RATING/b] 8/10 -------------------------------- Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0/b] I'm actually having trouble with Version One. It keeps saying that my SMPT Server isn't right or something, but it took all of my settings right out of Outlook. It says this for all 3 of my accounts, Gawab, MyRealBox, and Gmail. It's defult theme is VERY attractive. It also has GREAT startup speed. Outlook's got the preformence, Thunderbird's got the looks. RATING/b] 5/10, for now. May change if I find a way to fix this. . . --------------------------------- FoxMail 5.0.800 An awesome Email Cilent. It's startup speed is about the same speed of Outlook Express', and it's theme is eye catching and attractive. It didn't have the automatic Outlook Express account setting transfer like Thunderbird does (But than again, that didn't work, did it?), I'm not sure if I like that little window at the top of the computer screen that flashes news and the number of new messages. It's really quite annoying typing something (like now for example) and see this text flashing across the screen. But, of course, you can chose to hide that. It's got a GREAT AntiSpam option. RATING/b] 9.5/10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, if your not busy or not stuck with Outlook, give FoxMail a try. It's the overall best in performence AND looks. |

You might want to consider editing your post to fix what's supposed to be bold and what's not Add a space after the end of each of the headings (I assume there's supposed to be a colon there, so add the space after that) I've never used Outlook Express a whole lot, tried Thunderbird once, and I've never heard of FoxMail To tell the truth, I don't really even see the need for an email client. It's a rare month where I get more than one personal email Having not really used email clients a whole lot, I have to ask what exactly is better about them than just some email site The only thing I can see is that it's a nice, organized system, that has less of a chance of not working than Hotmail or something. I've used Thunderbird since 0.7 -- it's a great client, IMO. However, I noticed that Outlook (and Express) use non-standard ports and things that other clients can't handle well, so if you're importing settings, that's your problem there. | |||

I don't use a client, I use GMail . Pretty good job, but someone should change the "Cilent" in the title . |

SMPT = SMTP? Check your ISP's website to see what settings you should use for that, most of them have them either out in the open or in a tech support section. No other reason why Thunderbird should reject them. |
