| A few humanoid figures wearing high-tech armors came after the villagers escaped! Guard officer: "OK! Where are those..." The guards noticed Serra. Guard officer: "...enemies?!?" Guard #1: "OH GREAT NEOBOWSER!" Guard #2: "An "Ex" being!" Guard #3: "We're all going to die!" all guards: "RETREAT!!!" The guards ran away too, totally terrified by Serra! Looks like they were there to help the villagers... but got scared when they actually saw that there was an "Ex" being in the party! ...well, all the enemies were scared exept for two low-rank guards. Guard #1: "Hey? Why did everyone retreat? It's just a pokemon girl thing!" Guard #2: "I dunno... I heard that "Ex" beings were 300-feet tall and could crush entire armies beneath their boots in seconds!" Guard #1: "Yeah... that girl doesn't seem that scary. Maybe the stories about the "Ex" beings are only tall tales?" Guard #2: "Just think about it! If we capture that pokemon girl..." Guard #1: "...we will be famous! NeoBowser will shower us with praise!" Guard #2: "He will make us into high-ranked officers or even into Anti-Exs!" both guards: "YEAH! PREPARE YOURSELF POKE-GIRL!" The guards took their machine guns and began to try and shower the party with machine gun rounds! |

| Hero stood there calmly as the bullets came, Destin jumped to the ground, and Serra pulled out Protector. The sword sprang into action, stopping the bullets at a lightning fast speed, all the while trying to shout. "Wait, I'm not trying to kill everyone, just please wait and listen." Hero still kept that same attitude, but it looked like something was troubling him. He could feel another... normal human from their own reality in this place. Every fighter that could have made it this far wasn't human or had some real easy to detect life force. "Serra, we don't have time for this, we have to get moving." Serra looked back at Hero, but she was frowning. Her eyes seemed to get wider with grief and sadness when she looked at Hero. She could see his soul, how it wasn't completely there and how he had gone through so much in his life span. Not even past 40 and he already had enough sins to wiegh him down. "No Hero. I'm not killing people for no reason!" She concentrated on the hat and hoped that it would give him something useful to just restrain the guards. "Serra, we don't have time for your ideas here! Everyone will want to kill us no matter where we go, and I know how this is all going to end. You'll be killed if you hang onto your ideas here. I know it is hard, but you have to do it or you won't walk away from this." Something seemed to snap inside of Hero's soul and it was obvious what had happened. Without the swords on his back to remind him, he'd forgotten how he'd been long before. His old unstable self had been fighting the entire time, yet somehow had managed to stable itself for a while. He eyes seemed to flash as he turned his back on the other three. "I'm not going to be killed because a stupid girl doesn't know when to call it quits." Destin stepped in front of Hero, his eyes looked at Hero in a disgusted way. "We called you Hero before, but we judged you too quickly. You never were a Hero, just someone who did the right thing because it wouldn't get him killed. You are a coward..." Hero punched Destin and Destin fell to the ground. "Hero wait!" 12 voices seemed to speak out from the swords. Each one could be heard by everyone, and everything was still, assuming the shower of bullets was over. "You've already forgotten who you are. Your mind is in chaos. You'll fall victim to evil here and there will be no turning back. You know what you have to do..." The voices seemed to fade away as Hero walked away. "I'm trying to sign up for the tournament. I want to... (I can't tell him I want the dark weapon, umm...) become known as the best fighter." Star hoped that the fast idea would work. "I'll make the fights more than fun to watch. Believe me, the crowd will forget all about the champ." |

| The guards stared at each others. The bullets directed at the "Ex" being were deflected by her sword while the other ones were repelled by a magical barrier. Guard #1: "The "Ex" being didn't attacked..." Guard #2: "...and yet, our attacks are already not working." Guard #1: "I think that reporting to the boss would be smarter than standing here and waiting for the "Ex" being to kill us." Guard #2: "Yeah! Let's scram!" The guards ran away! Vivian's Hat and the Scythe of Sorrows began to glow, infusing Serra with their power... The hat filled her with power... and in a flash, she saw Vivian's life. How a cruel Shadow Demon had stolen her identity and how she became forgotten by everyone. How she was forced to work for the previous Shadow Queen and was involved into the rise of NeoBowser... how she lost her very soul and became what she despised the most, a Shadow Demon... but Serra also saw how she was reborn, how her soul had returned after she had met with the Legendary Hero. How she loved him... altought she knew he wasn't hers. She saw how Vivian was changed... how she became the one that would eventually free the Dark Ones within Dimension 1 from the terrors of Evil and, along with Luigi and Peach, lead their troops to victory against the invading hordes of the UEN. The hat filled Serra with warmt... in fact, an internal imaginary fire appeared. The 1st of the 8 Artifacts... Redemption... Two powers within Serra awakened. The power of the Veil, a technique perfected by Vivian, allow one to travel between the Light and Dark Sub-Dimensions of a world, allowing the user to dodge danger and find alternate routes to go around a seemingly impossible obstacle. The second power was a fire of darkness... the Demon Fire which burns the body and soul of all those who will dare to stand in her way. This fire is so intense that almost any enemy will catch on fire and keep burning long after the attack was finished. The second of the artifacts, the Scythe of Sorrows, glowed too, showing the life of Death to Serra... She saw how Death, at birth, was born dead. How life was never infused to her... and how she learnt that she was Death. She saw as she outlived her parents, her friends... how she became alone... how she became the slave of destruction as her instincts carried her to the destruction... but she also saw hope in the eyes of Death. For while Death never saw anything but destruction... she saw bright, pure souls in the darkness. Souls that did not feared her and were ready to throw away their lives so that others may live... she saw that destruction wasn't a tool of Evil but rather a natural cycle... She saw that Evil was not creating the destruction, it was upsetting it's delicate balance, turning Death into Doom. She saw that there were causes worth dying for... and she chose that she would rather die as Death than live as Doom. The scythe froze Serra to the very soul... a wind of loneliness and yet, that contains so much hope... The 2nd of the 8 Artifacts... Quest... Two new powers arose within Serra as well. An offensive and a defensive one. The power of Life Eraser will launch blades out from the emptiness to return Evil to the emptiness where it belongs. A painless and instant process of instant death, both physical and mental... The power of the Light of Beyond, on the other hand, is not destructive. This light brings peace to the soulless, ending their fury and breaking the bonds between them and their masters, allowing them to rest in peace for a while. It will also banish tormented souls and spirits back into the Prison Dimension, where they will either find peace or punishment varying on what they did during their life. As the two Artifacts finished infusing Serra with power, Ex spoke again... Ex: "I have watched everything and heard everything. You cannot bring yourself to kill beings other than your ultimate targets, don't you? It is a hard dilemna, indeed... Many of the souls under the control of Evil are in truth good... but they are still under the control of Evil. I want you to understand this, Serra... You CAN'T save everyone. Do not feel guilty if you are pushed to kill... and if you feel guilt... then use it as extra strenght! Do not let it destroy you! Remember that death is not the worst of possible fates. It is far worse to live forever as the puppet of NeoBowser than to have a limited existance as a free being." Ex paused. Ex: "If you still can't bring yourself to kill... then remember that was you see is NOT REAL. Even should you slaughter entire villages... what you killed were only memories. Anyway... You just got the Demon Fire, Veil, Life Eraser, and Light of Beyond, don't you? Those are very handy powers indeed... and you also seem to have grew physically. I think that you should now be able to use a move named the Dash. A Dash is the action of sending yourself sliding foward at great speeds. It will allow you to dodge many an attack and will allow you to clear greater distances when jumping. Also... you may now use basic Jump attacks. In short, try and stomp an enemy's head! This will hurt them. Jumps are effective against airborne and unstable enemies. The first will have difficulties avoiding your attacks and the second will be flipped upside down, completely defenseless. Remember what you're fighting for and be careful! I'll see you again when you either get the Dark Weapon or the next Artifact! Until then... good luck!" ... During this time... ... The boss smiled at Star. Boss: "So... you're an athlete, right? Good... we could use a new fighter. All you have to do is sign here..." The boss shown a contract to Star! Boss: "Sign here... and you'll be an official fighter! | Serra understood all she was told and walked towards the collosuem. Destin looked at and back to where Hero walked away from them. "Shouldn't we find Hero...?" Serra turned around with a frown, explaining everything to Destin, and turned back. "I hope he'll be all right." Destin turned to walk with Serra, but something kept him from walking with her how he usually did. Everyone was changing around him. His idol had become crazy and the girl that seemed like a sister had changed from the care free girl she used to be. "We have to hurry Destin, we need to make it to collosuem before it is to late." Serra sped the pace up to a run as she took off towards the collosuem. Hero's split personalities were begining to come out in full light though. "Why are you acting like that?" "It is none of your buisness old man! You should be gone with the seal." "I had my reasons to break the seal, I was hoping we'd both go with it to tell the truth." Hero's body began to glow and two forms of light came from the body. They were souls, and the body was gone. "You know what will happen to us here don't you!" "If you know, then of course I know, at least I know what'll happen to you. I'm going to do something I should've done a long time ago." One of the souls flashed and the other disappeared. The soul that was left started to fade slowly away, going to sleep for all eternity, but before it was gone, the badges Hero once held were in Serra's robe pocket. As soon as she looked them she could use them. "If you cheat me, or bind me, I'll have to kill you, I hope you take it seriously." Star signed the contract with a laugh, after quickly scanning through it. He knew what he would have to face soon, he was just hoping it would be sooner or later. As Star finished signing he jerked his head behind him. "Did you feel that Seraph, someone just faded away that had a very large amount of power..." |

| The guards of the Colosseum noticed Serra. Guard #1: "Hey... I saw that being in a history book!" Guard #2: "Yeah... they say that this is an "Ex" being and that it's the most efficient f****** killing machine in the whole wide Universe..." Guard #1: "...and that it's only purpose is to doom us all. I know that already." Guard #2: "I guess we should do something..." Guard #1: "Yeah! Let's do this!" The two guard grabbed each others and screamed in terror, like two little girls which was a quite unique sight considering their appearance! ... During this time... ... Seraph: "Yeah... I kinda felt it. Do you think anything major happened?" The boss smiled. Boss: "You made the right choice. Bella, my dear secretary... lead her to the minor-league locker!" A stunningly beautiful woman entered the room. Bella: "Yes sir. Follow me... well... boss? What is his name?" Boss: "He says that he's Star... but Star kinda lack... punch. I think that your nickname should be... HA! I got it! You shall be know as Blasto! How do that sound?" Bella: "It sounds rather dum..." The boss stared at Bella. Bella: "I mean, it sounds really cool! Come with me, Blasto." Seraph: "Blasto? Heeheehee! Blasto!... Blasto! Very funny... Now maybe you should follow her, isn't it, Blaaaasto? Heeheehee!" |

| "I wish there was a way I could change my appearence, it would sure help a lot." Serra looked at the guards and started laughing. She took out the scyth and pointed it at the two gaurds. "Light of Beyond." A blinding flash emitted from the scyth, consuming the two guards. Serra knew what would happen to them, and kept walking towwards the collosuem, wanting to know if there was any way she could possibly hide herself. "I don't think any of you know anything do you?" Serra spoke to her weapons as she continued forward, Destin following. Star walked out of the room ignoring the sword. As soon as he got out, he let lightning surge through his body, and aimed it through the floor to the boss, only a small zap though. Star followed Bella, talking to his sword. "Yeah, I just wish I knew what it was... Think it was Hero or any of them?" |

| The Light of Beyond didn't have any effect since the two guards were mortals. But even if the attack didn't do anything, just the mere fact that it was an "Ex" being that was attacking them was enough for them to faint... and as such, they fainted. Ex's voice echoed... Ex: "Use Veil... use Veil... dive into into Dark-elemental part of this world... deep into the darkness... The key to entering this Colosseum unnoticed is there..." ... During this time... ... Seraph: "According to what you think and to your memory... I think it was Hero. The word "think" is very important here. I think it was Hero... but I'm not sure... anyway, that Bella girl has some very important stuff to tell you. Listen to her, will you?" As Bella led Star to the locker, she explained the rules... Bella: "As you already know, you're now an official fighter and must obey to some rules. First, what the boss says goes. Period. You must do what he says. Second, you are NOT allowed to leave the town until he decided so. Period. Third... don't get totally destroyed. Some fighters are devoid of talent and as such, cheat to reach the top. Always be on your guard. Anyway... the locker is there..." Bella led Star to the locker. It was rather... well... it's pretty disgusting actually. Bella: "If you don't like this room... then you'll have to work your way to the top. The fights are divided into Ranks. You start at Rank 20, the lowest rank. To take part in a match, simply activate the computer and call the boss. He will then decide who you will fight. You will have NOTHING to say about his choice, understood? He is the ONLY one who makes decisions here and you, you follow the orders. Anyway... if you win your battles and, most importantly, respect the conditions he gives you, then he will make you fight people that are ranked higher than yours. Defeat people that are ranked higher than you to advance. On another hand, if you do not respect the boss' conditions, he'll make you fight people ranked lower than you. Lose to lower ranked people and your rank will drop. Lose when you're at Rank 20 and you'll be kicked out of the leagues, understood? Oh and... a final note. When you'll reach Rank 11, you will get the occasion to fight a guy from the Major League. Defeat him and your rank will be reset to 20... but you'll be in the Major League this time! However, lose and you will have to resume your progression normally. Understood? Now I have some urgent business to attend to so... good bye." Bella left the locker. |

Serra was almost ready to cry, but she knew she couldn't do that with someone watching. "I wish things hadn't ended up this way. We all used to be so close..." Serra shrank into the shadow world and began to make her way towards the collosuem. "Oh wow, this is going to take a while... Better get started." Star walked to the computer and activated it. He looked at the monitor, expecting to see the "boss'" face. "I hope he just throws me into a high ranked fight so I can hurry out of here..." |

| Off: Every single world is divided into at least two basic Sub-Dimensions: the Light World (standart world) and the Dark World (a dark-elemental copy of the standart world). The Chaos Heaven is no exeption... and this means that as twisted and corrupted as the Chaos Heaven is already, it can be get even more twisted and corrupted! ____________________________________________________________________ However, for some strange reason, Destin was unable to get away from Serra... in fact, the vortex created by the Veil pulled both Destin and Serra within the shadows of the Chaos Heaven! Ex's voice echoed... and this time, both Destin and Serra heard them. Ex: "Destin... Serra... I forgot to tell you something important. As mighty as an "Ex" being may be... it is impossible to survive in the Chaos Heaven alone. Destin, while you lack Serra's abilities... you do have abilities that she do not have! Furthermore, in order to unleash her full power, Serra will need the help of a true friend. As such... Destin... you will have to remain by Serra's side. While there can only be one wielder for the Dark Weapon, there are no limits to the number of beings that can share it's power. Remember that the strenght of Dark Weapon reside in numbers... the number of people who trust you. Serra... Destin... you aren't the only ones trapped within this realm. Allow Bel and Star to add their power to yours..." Her voice faded. The two were now in front of the Colosseum... but the sky was even weirder than before and the Colosseum was just... wrong-looking. Everything seemed so... twisted, so weird... and for some reason, everything seemed darker also! In fact, it was so dark that the two could barely see beyond their noses. The angels that were walking around were obviously pure-blooded but... there was something terrible about them. They had no face and their entire bodies seemed deformed... for some reason, Serra could "see" that the deformation was not physical... it was mental. The angels all had did something terrible... something that transformed them into these horrific things. Unlike the regular Chaos Heaven's angels, these angels did ran away. All that they did was "staring" at the party, groaning, and then resuming their activities. The two guards of the Colosseum were not human, unlike the regular Colosseum's guards. They were some kind of mutants with tentacles coming out of their backs... obviously, they were Liches of Flesh. Guard #1: "Huh? How did the girl came into the Chaos Heaven's reflection?" Guard #2: "I don't know... to go within the realm behind the mirror require great power..." Guard #1: "Bah! Whatever..." Guard #2: "You know what? I'm sick of guarding that old, ruined, abandonned Colosseum. Why do the boss think it's so important to guard it?" Guard #1: "Yeah! Nobody goes there anymore! It has been two hundred years since the last tournament!" Guard #2: "I wonder how everything is going in the "real" version of the Chaos Heaven?" Guard #1: "Yeah... You know what? I always wondered about something..." Guard #2: "What is it?" Guard #1: "How did the boss do it?" Guard #2: "Do what?" Guard #1: "I mean... the light-elemental is definitely the real Chaos Heaven!... but our true headquarters, souls, and bodies are inside of the reflection! Bending the laws of physics like that..." Guard #2: "Hey! That's why the boss is the Absolute Evil! Cuz' he's so strong that even the laws of physics are nothing to him! Well... DUH! I tought it was obvious! Anyway... you remember the reason we must guard this spot?" Guard #1: "Well... the boss said about somebody using the ability Veil within the ruined Colosseum to appear in the "real" Colosseum instantly, bypassing security." Guard #2: "Really? Then why are we here? I don't know what is that "Veil" ability... but it is rumored that it belons to Vivian... and Vivian is one of our highest-ranked agents! I doubt anyone will get that ability soon!" Guard #1: "Yeah... well... Let's go!" Guard #2: "Whoever arrive last at the cafe must buy the other a donut!" Guard #2 ran off toward the nearest cafe! Guard #1: "HEY! WAIT FOR ME!" Guard #1 ran off toward the cafe, too! Thus... they leaved the ruined Colosseum totally unguarded!... and as they left, Bel teleported right next to Serra! Bel's teleportation spell was obviously successful! ... During this time... ... The boss' face appeared on screen. Boss: "So, you want to have your first battle, right? Good! Your first battle will be against the team ranked just above you, Rank 19 to be more exact! You'll be against the Old Glass Team! This should be really easy but... listen to me well! For this battle, I want you not to use that blue sword of yours! I want to see how you can do without something to beat up guys with! Now go on and show me what you can do!" | "..." Star looked down at Seraph. He hadn't fought unarmed in a long time. "You ass." Star knew the boss couldn't here him, but walked out, formulating a plan. He would just have to electrify his body, so that when he fought he wouldn't be easy to touch. Of course, glass wasn't a very good conducter of electricty. He could just beat the hell out of them though, yeah that last one seemed good. "Well, I guess I'll be following you for a while Serra." Serra smiled at Destin as they approached the collosuem. "Hey Bel, when we get to the collosuem, you should be the one that does everything, I'll attract to much attention and Destin won't be as strong. Destin, you should sneak around gaining some knowledge of something, I'll check back with you two every once and a while." Serra was now standing in the main hall, in a corner, and ready to send the other two to the normal world and quickly go back by herself. "Check back every hour if you can." Serra opened the viel again and the other two were put into the other world, while she quickly came back. "These ears and this tail is driving me crazy!" |

| A guard entered the locker room. Guard: "Mister Blasto, the time for your match has came. Please follow me." ... During this time... ... Bel and Destin appeared in the main hall of the Colosseum, bypassing security. The computer in the main hall activated itself... Computer: "The next match is about to begin. To the audience: use the main door to enter the arena. To the fighters: follow the guards, they will lead you on the main stage. We wish to remind you of the rules: Nobody is allowed to interfere in the fights. No magic, no throwing of objects, nothing. You can, however, cheer for whoever you want." For some reason, one of the guards to the backstage left his post, leaving one of the entrances to the backstage unguarded. |

| The guard lead Star to the arena, where the boss, who was actually both the boss and the announcer, was waiting for him, as well as a gang of 4 small, old-looking dragon golems made of glass. Boss: "And here comes the challenger! He's our new recruit, the destroyer, Blasto! Look at him! Coming late as if he owning the place!" The boss approached the golems. Boss: "So, Glass Team? Any comments about how this match will go?" Glass Dragon #1: "We, the Old Glass Team, has been fighting in this arena for more than 500 years! We'll teach this No0B to respect his elders!" Boss: "They're totally fired up! Now I'll..." The 4 Glass Dragons noticed Blasto! Glass Dragon #1: "Hey! He's here!" Boss: "... explain some ru..." Glass Dragon #2: "TAKE THIS!" The third Glass Dragon dived foward and tried to bite Star's right leg as soon as he got on the ring! Boss: "HEY! The bell didn't rang! You have cheated!" The other Glass Dragons ignored the Boss and all dived toward Star with the intention of ripping him into pieces!... however, as Star quickly realised, these things were very, very weak. Their bite attacks (apparently, their only offensive move) were barely scratching him. ... During this time... ... Bel and Destin had entered just as Star had entered the main room and thus, saw and heard everything that happened. |
