Ahh, the playoffs. Anyway, the teasm I want to do well (In other words, WIN).

EAST: Montreal

WEST: Vancouver. Or Calgary. Either one.

STANLEY CUP: Montreal.

Yep, that's what I hope. It would be interesting to see Tampa Bay win as well...

Toronto in the East final... *shudders*

The parade would stretch from Toronto to Windsor.

I can see it going father then that I think it's been 37 years since Toronto has won the cup if they win this year I can see riots and a celebration that will last for years all because it's one of the best hockey towns in the world

What Monarx said. Flyers all the way of course

I'm really excited about this season! Can't wait to see who will win! I wonder if the Blues will get in this year.

Habs finally clinched tonight. God... Brisebois celebrated when the 3rd period ended, despite the fact we still had to play OT.

Of course, we lost.

Oh man, gotta love it when your two favorite teams play each other so close to the playoffs and tie. I'm still leaning towards Toronto as my favorite though. Can't wait fo the final game of the season, they play each other again, which will potentially decide home ice advantage. Not that it really matters, the Leafs fans will outnumber the Sen's anyway.

LOL thats funny.

It's going to look more like this

Western Conf. winner - Colorado/Detroit <-- One of them will win the cup
Eastern Conf winner - Toronto, yes I said Toronto.

And the stanley cup winner will be, Colorado or Detroit.

It should actually be a very good year, I see absolutly no team sweeping the other team and I expect some upsets such as Toronto over Jersey in the Eastern Conference final.

You heard it here first

Detroit or Colorado winning the Cup? I think not!

Think about it...

Colorado doesn't have a strong enough lineup to win. They're crowded with offense, but their defensive game is severely lacking. It can't build around Salo or Aebischer, whom I'm not so sure can hold up in the playoffs.

And Detroit has everything but decent playoff goaltending. Legace is inexperienced, and CuJo is mediocre in the playoffs. If they face San Jose or Dallas, it will be another first round exit for Dead Things.

East: Philly or Toronto. Runner up: Tampa
West: Calgary on an upset run, like the Canes and Ducks did the last 2 years.
Cup: Toronto. Belfour wins a Vezina, Kiprusoff winning the Con Smythe.

And my President's Trophy pick goes to: Tampa. I think they will beat Detroit to win it, but it doesn't matter because one team can actually produce in the playoffs this year, one can't.

Personally, I dunno if Detroit really doesn't have what it takes to be a Cup contender this year, or if I just hate them too much to come to that conclusion, but regardless, that's what my vote goes to. I still don't think Joseph can hold up in the playoffs. Neither can Legace.

An all Canadian Cup final would be great, though, especially if it's another "upset" team making the Cup final (kinda like Carolina/Anaheim before). Calgary would problably be the best bet for that. Hopefully, the "upsetter" will actually win it all this time.

Toxic: I like Boston, and I think they have a good team. They problably won't make it past the 2nd round, though, but hey, that's just my prediction.

Well, they are on a good roll, just got a boost from management, a great captain, 2 good goaltenders...I think they have a legit shot.

Raycroft has no playoff experience, but is a great young netminder. And he has Potvin to assist him, who does have post-season experience. I say they'll be on a good run towards the playoffs. Not sure about going all the way though. Depends on how they're facing and when really.

True 'dat. Dan Cloutier was never really considered much of a playoff caliber goalie, although they burned Calgary last night 5-3.

Not that I really "want" Vancouver to go all the way anymore, though. Hint Dirtuzzi's hit on Moore. <_>

Yep... Raycroft had an excellent debut. Although you'd think they would've started Potvin, since he has the post-season experience, but him and Raycroft make one hell of a goaltending duo. I think Boston will be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs this year.

And the Flyers are going to win their series against the Devils. And my vote goes to the Sharks to winning it all tonight, and either them or Calgary whippin' the Dead Thing's collective asses.

No kidding, huh? Did anyone at all have any expectations for those two? There were trade rumors before the season started, and now look at them.

Don't be surprised by Raycroft, rookie goaltenders playing great in the playoffs is nothing new. Off of the top of my head i can think of Ron Hextall, leading the Flyers to the finals in '89. They almost pulled it out too, against possibly the best team in NHL history.

Funny... I thought it was the Habs and Flames for the Cup in 89, with Calgary winning it all!

Personally I cannot stand the thought of the Dead Things winning another Cup. A lot of people like them just because they win a lot, but frankly I don't believe in that "Bandwagon" BS. Let's just face it: they're trying to buy a Cup. They may be atop the standings, but the cold hard truth is that the only reason they win is because they have the biggest roster in the entire league (even moreso than the Avs), adding to chemistry and getting the lucky bounces when they needed them. They drafted some very good players, yes, but if not for Detroit filling their deep financial pockets, they would not have had their last Cup or be in the race for it today.

Ojjhyeah.

Murray with an OT goal, on a collision at center ice. That was sweet.

That game-tying goal deep in the 3rd was purely a fluke. Knuble barely fanned on it with his stick and it hit the left post and banked in past the goal line. I thought it'd be over (as in it would never have gone in).
