In Australia, we have something called "Rage" on our ABC after a certain time. It's sort of the indication that you're just up too late, as it starts at usually nearly 12am.... and goes all night. Mostly they just play music videos. They sometimes have guest presenters (often bands) in presenting and choosing the videos to be played, but.. other than that, it's videos. Does anybody here watch RAGE? (obviously, aussies only..) Anybody enjoy watching music videos? I like RAGE, but then the music is usually quirky and not your usual top 40 stuff. At the moment, there's a Flaming Lips thing on with Spongebob that is weirding me out (and pirates, arr), but they usually show a lot of Aussie stuff too that you don't see on any of the other music video shows. Anybody like this stuff? (EDIT: OMFG, Nick Cave and BUNNIES. WTF is the world coming to when a Murder Ballad singer has animated Bunnies in his music video??) Saturday Night's usually better, depending on the programmer. Friday's mostly just new releases. Meh. |

Which song was the video to? "Where The Wild Roses Go?" Because if it was, then I'm even more troubled. I like music videos when they're well done. Which doesn't always have to include music that I like. Jet, for instance, isn't on the top of my favorite bands, but they've turned out a pretty cool video. Radiohead, Modest Mouse, and the Smashing Pumpkins all had gorgeous bits of film. I also saw a pretty cool video by The Killers the other day. What it comes down to is that I'll turn on Fuse or something of the kind in the background if I've nothing better to do, but I won't really pay attention unless its a cleverly done peice. Its just something about the cadillacs and bling-bling. It gets old after awhile. |

It wasn't "Where The Wild Roses Go" -- I've seen that one though, he kills Kylie Minogue with a rock. It's great Eh, I haven't seen any good music videos lately. Frenzal Rhomb's music videos were always interesting.... |

Its just something about the cadillacs and bling-bling. It gets old after awhile. BLASPHEMER! We usedta have MuchMusic. And it was good. Then they made it MuchMusic USA. And it sucked, as they canned all the interesting (read: Canadian) videos. Then it became Fuse. Although the snarking on MTV was nice, it just didn't work. And now it's been off our digital cable for a year. However, we DO get MTV2 now, which is appreciated. They actually play good videos more often than not. Even if the mothership was the only place I saw the new Killers video... and they DIDN'T PUT UP THE CREDITS (you know, artist, song title, album title, label, director). Weenies. |

stupid me, i thought this was about the band rage, and how one of their members testicles exploded during a performance... MTV sucks ass, and i hate it, from what ive seen on the schedule, they have removed MTV2 Rock from the 6:00 pm schedule, and replaced it with crap no one cares about... and they are getting pretty damn close to ruining the headbangers ball again... ...Breaking Benjamin on the ball? thats not right... has anybody seen fuse? the hosts suck, but at least they dont play most of the crap that mtv does, they have like 4 or 5 shows for rock videos, but mtv has like 2, if i could trade both of those in, i would so i could get fuse, its so much better... |
