OK, I fell the other day trying to break into this house. It hurt, but I didnt think it was bad. The next day, it starts hurting really bad, and it is as hard as a rock. There was a little scrape, but its below the scrape where it hurts, and it wont stop. It hurts if it moves or if something touches it. anyone have suggestions or ideas as to what it might be?

... I'm going to ask the obvious question. Why the hell were you trying to break in? As for the ow, see a doctor. Seriously, do not ask people on the internet to diagnose injuries -- we can't see the swelling, the bruising, we can't see any of the things that allow a doctor or firstaider to make a diagnosis. |

See the doctor soon. If it's broken (which from your description, is a possibility, but like I said, I can't tell) then you need to see them ASAP. That means **NOW**. Post photos of the injury later though. |

.....If it was "OK" for a few days and then started to hurt, my hunch is that you might have an infection - and if that's the case, you need to get to a doctor. It's either that or a break/fracture.

Yeah, it's pretty much an infection or you did something to break or fracture it.. Get it checked! You should have earlier

Did you even mention where the injury was? I'm assuming it's your foot, and in that case I would say a strain, as those aren't nearly as bad as an ankle sprain. If there's no swelling you can probably rule out straining or spraining. Otherwise I've heard sometimes people get hairline fractures or stress fractures. They're not very traumatic but still hurt. I can't remember which one it would be, or if hairline and stress fractures are different. Eitehr wway, you should still see el doctorr.

No, it was my lower leg. Its better now. Turns out I bruised my bone, so in the cold for years to come, my leg will be in pain. I used to love the winter, now I am a summer person. Damn.

I did the same thing to my elbow, but I wasn't trying to break into my own home, although I have done it about 50 times. Yeah it'll suck for a while, unless you are still growing then it should heal and you won't get that pain. Just be happy you didn't do something really bad to it though. (goes outside in the 10 degree weather and calls it 'bracing'.) |

I love the fact that I'm 17 and my doctor says that chance are I'm still growing so I might as well damage myself now. Bad advice, probably, but I use it anyways I dropped a very heavy Christmas tree right on my knee cap. The leg didn't move but my knee is swollen right now and very much in pain when I move it. |

Just thought I would add this.... Isn't it funny how you don't want anyone to break into your house, so you lock it or whatever, then when you forget your key and have to break in yourself, it seems so easy. LOL Bridget |
