Mario is sleeping, and he cant wake up. What to do? but to try to escape his dream. Problems? Of course, goombas and turtles o my. But he has mushrooms and tiles to help him survive.

This is my second hack that is in partner ship with Lord Lazer. Eye candy coming soon. If your witty you'll be able to escape Mario's Dream.

Well...after HOURS of work here is the title screen. I truely hate the title screen layout with a passion. I've provided a before and after image to show the difference for those who don't know the game (I know I didn't before XcomGS got me into this one).

If you have any comments on the title screen...say (or suggest them). I will warn you there isn't much more I can do to it. I've almost takin all the room I can.

P.S. I didn't know XcomGS did a post here on Acmlm, so I copy and pasted what I put on TEK.

You don't like the blockyness I tried to imitate (I believe Mario 64 had a blocky title)? Oh well, only way that's changing is if he gets a new spriter. I spent too much time to scrap that. Though, thanks for pointing out why you dislike it. If you really hate it that much you try it out and see how difficult it is.

Maybe I did it the hard way (who knows). When I said I hate the title screen layout is because in YY-CHR it wasn't together like in other games. I had to use a different program (Fireworks) to orginize it then put it in.

Oh, I like the blockiness you tried to imitate, you just... Hmmm... Failed horribly. That's not particularly blocky, just ugly. Just look at the I too see what I'm talking about, it's all over the place and the thing looks like it was drawn by a 3-year old. Most of all, why does the O look like an eye?

What is ugly about it? I'm really confused. The title screen looks as it is on purpose. I have the M and A combined, the R and I touching, and the O with a mushroom in the middle.

Edit: Ether it sucks or I've grown into it, like coffie. I like it. It stays and if XcomGS doesn't like it he can get a new spriter.

How about making the letters look normal and not having them read from up-left to down-right, and eliminating the pointless Zs and whatever that thing is to the upper-right of the O. Then it might look okay.

I didn't plan on those. That was a last minute decision. The reason for it is that the part of the R (between the stem of the R and where the R and I merge) is also the part where it's above-right of the O. In the title screen they had T's there and they used the same graphics for that part. The underline underneath the Z's is there, because the underline underneath the O is also used (not cause I want it to) underneath the Z's. To see what was used pretend you cut that line in half, the left side then. As for the weird TV thing by the bubble and Z's... I put the things on it's side kinda as a weird overline or something...to make up for it being there (maybe if you think hard you can pretend it's a TV?). Also to have the letters that big I have to have them positioned like so or there will be a LOT of odditys like that thing above-right of the O.

Edit: This is why I said I hated the layout. It was a nightmare making this.

It's no suprise that tiles are recycled several times in the screen. You could reshape the tiles on the screen on top of editing the tiles in TLP.. then you could actually get the screen the way you want it without having to comprimise. ;P
