What can I say? It was my first time.

Went to get some Burger King for a late dinner, got home ... pulled out my Black Mages CD from the CD player, turned the car off, grabbed my food, slammed the door.

The instant I heard the door shut I realized "Oh boy, the keys are still in there".

Thing is, I don't exactly have my own car yet ... it's my moms.

(waiting for her to come home ...)

Happaned to you?

I didn't own the vehicle, but we were up getting KFC for lunch, and my Mom closed the van door, effectively locking the keys inside We had to wait for my Dad to drive up from work with the spares

I'm guessing the car's still in the middle of the parking lot or whatever for you, hmm? That must suck, but hopefully your Mom has spare keys.

I did that once. Luckily, I was near a Taco Bell and I had my wallet (and AAA card) with me, so I called and a guy came out and popped the lock. It took him a while to get there because it was rush hour and he had tons of traffic to fight and other locks to pop, but once he did, I was amazed at how quickly he managed to open the door. He just stuck a wedge between the window and the rubber seal, pulled a squiggly metal rod out of his bag (which had a bunch of other different rods, presumably for different models of cars), stuck it down the door, and voila.

Still doesn't beat the time my mother was taking my sister to daycare when she was 3 and my mother was filling up the car with gas and then my sister locked the door behind her with the keys in the car. She couldn't get anywhere for a good fourty-five minutes while my father finally got there with his set and she wouldn't open up the door because she was under the impression that the minute she unlocked it she'd be in trouble. And it happened to be winter so my mother was freezing and she was pissed.

Course I never knew of this, I was at school.

Holy shit! 3 people replied after I started typing this!

This's happened to me. It sucks. Not the fact thta it's probably incredibly easy to open the door (locksmith or she has a spare key), but parent always get mad whenever things like this happen .

Actually, in my driveway.

So I'd consider myself to be lucky.

Thank god I didn't have to walk home.

Here's the bad situation though:

- Dashboard is goofy, requireing another key to use. If I use the one to open up the door with on it, it will get stuck.
- The key used to drive, doesn't work on the door. So basically vice versa from the other key.

So, basically overtime one key screwed up, and as far as I know we don't have a secondary / backup key.

Guess we'll be calling someone.

My grandpa locked hsi keys in his car.

Luckily his window was down about half an inch, and I stuck a tape measure in there and pushed the "UNLOCK" button.

It was pretty fun, really, hehe.

See, this is why you keep a spare key in your shoe or some such place.

Hi Valcion!

...

Well, for being honest. I do have a feeling this will be one of the first mistakes I do as a car driver.

Now, I keep spare keys at home. Or at a trusting friend. Not in my shoe.

Not only did I lock my keys in my car...

I did it right after I got into my first accident. Not fun. At all.

I'm actually surprised I haven't...I don't have a car myself, but sometimes my mom is in a store and I'm in the car, and I have to use the bathroom, so I'm tempted to get out...

Ha ha! It's vitually impossible for me to lock my keys in my car. I'd have to get out, lock the door while it's open, toss the keys inside, then shut the door. Suffice it to say, that hasn't happened yet.

In a lot of cars, you can open the door, lock it, and then close it...
