To people talking about the minus world: It's not really the minus world. Look, the -1 is in the same place as _-1. It's just not loading the tile for the world number. Really people should call it the blank world.

Well, I never knew that. I've always heard it called the minus world up 'till now, and for the sake of easiness, I'll continue calling it that Interesting bit of information though.

One other bug of sorts popped into my mind about 10 minutes ago. The 'black room of death' on Mario 64.

Ok!

Recently in Zelda The Wind Waker - In one of the castles when you've defeated the final boss, Link will just keep on jumping and the movie won't start to play, making it impossible to continue. It's kinda random, since the second time around it didn't happen.

Prince of Persia GB - A really strange bug. You can walk through all the walls and doors on the left of your screen. Just run to the wall/door, and push down just before you'll hit the wall/door. The Prince will freeze, then turn back to right and he will turn IN the wall/door. You'll end up on the other side of the wall/door. Althoug, if there is no other side of the wall, you'll fall down. Even funnier, you can even walk through the mirror without scatering it, so your shadow won't escape. You still have to fight him later on though.

The Tomb Raider series on PSX. certain "secret" passage ways could be revealed my walking as close to the wall/door as possible and looking left, down, or right. any of those extremes sufficed to help you see the other side as the ploygons were only one sided.

On my R-Types Collection for PS1 (Japanese) I play R-Type 1, I play to the second level, die, then start again, activate the code to choose your level, and pick level 2 again. Its now horribly screwed up and is almost a new level in itself. Its a level based after one of the later bosses and you have to navigate through an invisible path (there are certain sprites rendered invisible by the glitch so you have to go through the level without touching them). I start where I have 'beaten' this boss, and go right. I remember the path being top right and then the centre of the screen, but then afterwards I kept hitting one (I used the cheap 'press select button a lot for infinite lives' thing). After dying here, letting the game start over takes me to level 1 but it has sprites and enemies from level 2, plus lots of garbaged sprites flying through the air, some you can go through and some you cannot. I don't know if its only on R-Type Collection, or even just on my disc, but its a pretty cool glitch because its almost a new level.

The infamous Mew glitch anyone? People had wrong for years, Mew was catchable in R/B/Y.

...but it also added on the long list of bugs that R/B/Y have. Check my old thread for how to do it... and yes it does work. People just didn't belive me back then. >>;

That's not true. They made Snake Rattle 'n Roll, too, and look at precisely how many glitches are in it.
Found two, and they're not fatal at all.

1. If you have long tongue and then licks the left part of the screen (usually at a place where the screen dosen't scroll more) the tongue appears on the other side of the screen. (this is a common bug in many games)
2. You can't be behind pillars, thought this bug is only noticeable when you have hacked the game like I did. (and still hacking it, thank god that it's using a simple level format...)

You'll have missed the complete scene however. This happens on every PC. Congrats to Capcom.

I think it's possible to exit to windows and then return to the game a bunch of times to make the scene continue. Well, it worked sometimes for me, but I never got too far due to the bugs. Damn, I hate this game.

But really, the worst bug ever:

Impossible Mission (Atari 7800):
Basically, some items you need to beat the game are located in places where you can't get them. Yay.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW*

Sonic Adventure 2: In some early copies (for DreamCast), during Robotnic's part of the last level: When Eggman falls down from the ceiling (?) at the beginning of his part, he fell through the floor and died, making the game unbeatable.

Super Mario 64: When you have got 120 stars and the wing cap outside the castle, enter the cannon and try to fly into the wall somewhere arond the window at the top of the castle. Around there is a wall you can walk through.

GoldenEye 007: In any of the bunker levels, throw eight mines in the main control room, each one of the mines should be on their own monitor that hangs from the ceiling. Detonate the mines. Now, stuff you throw/certain things you shoot, like mines, grenades, rockets, tank shots and such will flot in mid-air where you stand. (I suggest that you move backwards when shooting/throwing to avoid picking them up again)

If I remember what I read correctly, going through the wall is as far as you can get in All-Stars for whatever reason. In fact, I think I remember reading in Nintendo Power some time back that there is no Minus World (Which I believe can actually be either World 36, 38, or a few others that display blank tiles) in All-Stars.

Note that in the GBC SMB DX, you can't even get that far--the collision detection routine was fixed, so you can't even get through the wall.

As for World 5 in All-Stars, I know if you for some reason go through the center pipe in the NES version, you'll go to World 5 (Note that there's normally only one pipe in the Warp Zone to World 5). Not sure why you'd go there in All-Stars though.

Oh, and one I thought of in Link to the Past: You're probably familiar with the fact that if you fall down the pits Ganon creates during the final battle, you effectively have to start the battle over. You may not be familiar with the fact that this holds true even if you BEAT Ganon (I beat him and decided to fall down anyway to see what happened).

Tony Hawks Underground + Moon Physics = Total havoc.

Bassically, you can get outside any level, where you will floast and crash the game. This also works with Tony Hawks 3.

Can you really call that the worst bug you've ever seen? I mean, it's really not so bad. It doesn't lock the game and erase the memory, for instance :p

Missingno was potentially game-wrecking, but that didn't stop me from abusing the 127 items

I've heard about the Sonic Adventure 2 bug about Eggman falling through the floor, but thankfully it didn't happen when I was playing theough the Gamecube version.

I remember I triggered the Crooked Cartridge glitch on Ocarina of Time, purely accidentally. It was quite a shock, seeing Link suddenly jump all over the screen Not that bad of a bug, I suppose in that it won't get triggered through normal play.

Also, there's a bug in Equinox for the SNES where you can get to world 5 early by rotating the camera and jumping across a normally unpassable gap.

In Super Mario Sunshine, Gelato Beach, get the rocket nozzle, and follow the stone path to get to the area where you raced El Piantissimo to. Continue to the end of the path and jump onto a tightrope. Face the mountain, and rocket at the apex of a high jump on the rope. Finally, dive into the mountainside, and you'll lose a life (probably because you go beyond the level bounderies)

Also, try not to play Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. It's loaded with bugs.

In the original Zelda: Link's Awakening, there was this sick glitch that let you walk through almost any wall if you pressed select while entering a doorway. This would bringp the map and when you exited, you'd be on top of the wall at the other side of the room yu were entering. You could hop down from there and end up in another part of the map, or another map entirely. You could really fuck your game up like this if you end up in the wrong place I also noticed this got fixed in the GBC version of the game.
