I've seen some pretty bad bugs in games, but mostly understandable. (It's possible to crash Mario World in one level for example, but that's one level and the method's not exactly obvious. ) Or play any game by Rockstar (formerly DMA) and you'll find thousands, I seriously think they don't bug test at all. But I simply do not understand how this one slipped through quality control - in Pok

Dragon Ball Z - Buu's Fury

This game has alot of bugs but one that was big was a bug which would make a door which would block you, thus rendering your current game pretty useless.

New Legends on X-Box

The Magical Flying Fat Man

Randomly in the game if you hit any of the really fat looking guards (they all look fat) they just kind of seem to go up the screen and walk away. Going to Nirvana.

The Flash Light of Unbelievable Doom III

Hit someone with a flash light. The power of the shockwave generated by the forward motion of your well developed and highly muscular arms tears the person at a molecular level. They fall apart. They fucking just become chunks of nothing!

I'm not sure if this is true, but if it is, it truly takes the cake. The PS2 demo of Viewtiful Joe 2 wipes whatever memory cards are in the system clean, supposedly.

It is indeed true.

Claim by friend: MGS Twin Snakes, if you play psycho mantis on a modded GC and have Japanese save files, he glitches up a bit and just spouts gibberish the entire fight.

Supposedly, my cousin effectively lost 40+ hours of work in DK64 when he collected a Golden Banana and didn't get credit for it. The game showed it as being collected, but didn't count it. He was not pleased.

Personally, there are three in Battletoads that stand out: Sometimes in level 8, your Battletoad will attempt to make the final jump to Robo-Manus early. The result is that the screen scrolls up, Robo-Manus appears...and your Battletoad gets stuck off the screen, continually losing lives until Game Over. It seems to be more likely to happen if you don't precisely navigate the final "gauntlet" of jumps leading to Robo-Manus (Because if you jump anywhere in the vicinity of the gaps in the platforms, even if you don't make it through, the game scrolls up slightly).

An even worse one is in level 10. If the third Scuzz is just above you on the electrified platform when you boot the last bomb, he simply won't fall down, and you'll be stuck and have to start the game over. Not a lot of fun.

And then there's the now infamous "Player 2's Clinger Winger doesn't move" glitch in level 11, which makes it literally impossible to go through the game from start to finish with 2 players.

So yeah, Rare is about as good as Rockstar when it comes to bug testing.

I haven't seen too many bad bugs. The only game in recent memory with a bug that bad was in MK Deception. Whenever you tried to do Liu Kang's second fatality on Shujinko, the game would freeze.

This was a one time glitch bug thing on Spiderman 2 for GCN. I talked to some random guy on the street, he said "There are walking tanks terrorizing the city" Then you heard one of them, but it didnt show them like usual. I followed the map to them, and they werent there. In their place was a glowing ball of light. Walked away from it and it said mission failed. I got it on tape because I thought it was so strange.

I don't see why they could've just had a 'press this button / button combo, and get unlimited items for your sixth slot'. That would've been easier, although there's probably something even simpler they could've used

The most recent one I can remember is this:

On Joshua (an old NES game) if you put in a level code that's divisible by 5, you can access level 0, which you're not supposed to be able to get to in the normal game. If you choose to play the level, it's messed up. Tiles are in weird places, sometimes Joshua starts on the outside of the level, but interestingly enough, some levels are still possible to beat If you try to go in the exit, it just puts you right back at another glitched level. I did that on a copy of the ROM on our computer, and now whenever I load it up in any emulator, the levels are glitched up

I found out the level 0 trick just under a year ago now, so that's why I say it's still somewhat recent

The worst bug I have found was in Perfect Dark for the N64. Ii was in the Ruins level in multiplayer and doing really good to (like usual). So I am in the big open area outside and I go to run through a door (it was open). The doors in this level short circuit so it didn't close right away. I was running and all of a sudden fall through the floor! I now know that if you stand between the two doors and press B (to close the door) you fall thru the floor. You can look up and shoot back at the level too!

Well, to get into the minus world, this is what you have to do:

:: Get to the pipe near the end of either 1-2 or 4-2 as big Mario. You should still be underground when you arrive at the pipe
:: Jump up on the pipe, and smash the two bricks to the left of the rightmost one. As in this picture:

:: Now comes the tricky part. You need to jump up, will still facing to the right, and make the back of Mario's head go through the remaining block on the right. If it goes through, but you fall back down onto the top of the pipe, keep trying, and eventually you'll get this:

:: Don't move. Mario should move through the blocks himself, and fall out in the area on the right. Go down the leftmost pipe, and the screen should show '-1' as the level number.

I haven't had much luck getting it to work on Mario all Stars, but I did get it to work in our NES. I don't know if it'll work in a NES emulator, but you can try I did it on All Stars there, and it sent me to world 5 once

As far as the Mario 2 glitch goes, I never tried carrying a potion through a door and using a warp. I'll have to see what it does

Edit: I just read Keikonium's post, and it made me remember a glitch I ran across in Perfect Dark. I can't remember the level name right now, which I know doesn't help, but it was in one of those levels in the underground area with those big wide elevators. There were a couple of the doors that were locked, but if you turned on the invisibility cheat or whatever it was, and made the guards follow you back to the door, they'd open it, and you could look out and see the level background, and if you looked up, you could see through the underside of the elevator

The bug part of that would have to be leaving the enemies with the ability to open locked doors, but then again, I suppose some stuff in the game wouldn't work otherwise

I guess the games not so perfect eh? And I love that glitch. I can access perts of levels that I normally shouldn't beable to (like all that Area 52 levels stuff). And good job getting the minus level in all stars. I have NEVER been able to do that

There was a very weird bug in... I think it was Championship Manager 4. It's a soccer/football management simulation in case you didn't know.

In any event... there was a bug that occasionally popped up after 3-4 seasons of playing. For some reason, the game wouldn't generate any fixtures/matches for the next season, which basically meant you'd have to wait a WHOLE year until the next season started, going bankrupt in the process.

And yes, it WAS patched.

Bah, nothing in specific, but Invisible War. (Deus Ex)

That game seemed very unfinished. A lot of times the game would freeze up, on both the Xbox and PC versions.

You can easily fall through maps.

Shooting people can sometimes slow the framerate down a lot, and mess things up.

Overall ...
